I'm sure they'll still have plenty of applications, it's not really going to ruin anyone's reputation taking on the job and the getting sacked 6-12 months later, as they have a name for doing this to managers. Also, I'm sure they will be fairly well paid and receive a chunky golden handshake when the inevitable happens.

Watford on 19:06 - May 6 with 895 views | Dubtractor | Whilst Watford are a bit of a basket case with managers, this sacking is no surprise. If you do a league table for the second half of the season Watford are rock bottom, with only 5 wins from 23 games. I'd not be surprised if Carrick gets the hook from Boro too, as he has massively underachieved in his time there.

Them and Norwich have had a shocking back end to the season. WBA too. The cream normally floats to the top, but it can still be a highly unpredictable league from the top 3 or 4 downwards. I suspect we’ll encounter a few banana skins next year, but hopefully our quality and buying power should see us in that small top group (pending any major disruption).

Have been awful the last couple of months, and worse than awful since it became clear they were going to sack him. Think they’ve got 2 or 3 decent players and a load of rubbish around them. Not dissimilar to Norwich,

Everyone was saying Carrick would be the obvious replacement for McKenna if he went, so dangerous to go on profile and because they had a a United connection. Look at the actual results first. To not get in the playoffs this year in the Champ for any half decent squad was poor. There was basically no mid-table. Bristol being a playoff team and even stumbling over the line shows the quality but it should bode well for next season I guess. Norwich got 73 in 6th last year (this year 67 would have been enough!). [Post edited 6 May 19:25]

Fashionable to call them a basket case but worth pointing out that prior to the Pozzo’s taking over in 2012 they had been in the top division for only 8 seasons in c125 years. Since then, they’ve been there for 6 of the 13 seasons since - so fair to say it’s worked for them

Tbf I picked my words to state basket case with managers, rather than basket case overall. A bit like like Chelsea, they will point at the results their revolving door policy has led to.

Mad innit. They’ll soon be on their 8th permanent manager since McKenna joined Town.

Cleverley's sacking is very harsh, he finished 14th with a bottom six squad. Sure, the form tailed off in the second half of the season but every young manager will have bad spells and it was probably inevitably that they were going to drop off with the lack of depth there.
