Your Top 3, plausible, signings for this Summer 11:09 - May 12 with 5540 views | Len_Brennan | It's going to be tricky window, as this season has shown the gap between Premier League & Championship level players. We have to work on the basis that we will be pushing to go straight back up & try to sign players that will be capable of stepping up with us. If we found it difficult to get PL level players to join us last summer, it should be even harder now that we have gone back down. The foreign markets are a must, but who do you think we might have a reasonable chance of bringing in from the domestic market? Our 3 main areas to look at are centre forward (x2), centre midfield (x2), and probably right back. I have liked the look of Ivanovic at Millwall any time I saw him, he's young, has undoubted quality & will only get better. Wouter Burger from Stoke would be a decent shout for our midfield & looks like he wants to get out. He has played at a high level in Europe before, so may well be suited to a PL style. If Sheffield United don't go up, & if they are under pressure to reduce their budget further, de Souza Costa is a smashing player, but who will undoubtedly have interest from the PL. As for right back, Jimmy Dunne at QPR made the Championship team of the year, despite being in a poor side; maybe a relatively affordable option to test out during the year?

10?! I hope we won't need that many. 2 CMs and 1-2 strikers. The rest will depend on who else goes but can't imagine a huge exodus. Think Clarke returns as the back up RB. Really hope we manage to persuade Tuanzebe and if so I don't think we need to sign any other defenders even if Burgess goes. O'Shea/Woolf & Greaves/Baggott would be good. Baggott needs a pathway. Davis obviously would need replacing but think he stays. Omari is then the only other question mark.

I asked ChatGPT about Wout Burger and… Yes, Ipswich Town have agreed to sign Wouter Burger from Stoke City this summer. The Dutch midfielder is set to join the club on a five-year contract for a reported fee of €14.5 million. This move marks Ipswich’s first signing of the summer transfer window. Burger has been a key figure for Stoke City since his arrival from FC Basel in August 2023, making 77 appearances and scoring five goals. His performances have attracted attention from several clubs across Europe. Ipswich Town, having been relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2024–25 season, are looking to strengthen their squad for the upcoming Championship campaign. The acquisition of Burger is seen as a significant step in bolstering their midfield options. The transfer is pending final confirmation, but all indications suggest that Wouter Burger will be part of Ipswich Town’s squad for the 2025–26 season. So there we have it. Until when pressed it said As of now, there is no confirmed agreement for Wouter Burger to join Ipswich Town this summer. The earlier information suggesting a finalized transfer appears to be inaccurate. Burger remains under contract with Stoke City until June 2027 . While there has been interest from clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur and FC Midtjylland, no deal has been finalized, and Stoke City have previously turned down offers for him . Therefore, unless there are new developments, it is unlikely that Ipswich Town will sign Wouter Burger this summer. [Post edited 12 May 20:44]

I don't think it will be quite as dramatic as that but time will tell I fully expect us to invest quite aggressively again

Your Top 3, plausible, signings for this Summer on 22:00 - May 12 with 279 views | SmithersJones | Jimmy Dunne is a good shout if Axel goes. Strong and athletic full back / centre back. I’ve seen him at QPR a few times this season and he’s way too good for them. He’s out of contract as well. Sheff Utd were in for him in January so presumably they’ll be in the mix in the summer, although if they go up they may set their sights a little higher. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Your Top 3, plausible, signings for this Summer on 22:01 - May 12 with 276 views | itfcsuth | RB, CDM, ST seem the most likely positions straight out the gate in the summer. RB - Japhet Tanganga, Jimmy Dunne, Timothy Fosu-Mensah CDM - Shea Charles, Tommy Doyle, Flynn Downes, John Buckley, Tom Krauß, Steven Alzate, Tyler Morton ST - Josh Maja, Haji Wright, Wilson Isidor, Delano Burgzorg, Divin Mubama, Evan Ferguson, Sam Surridge, Emil Riis Beyond that it’s difficult to know where we are going to need as there are so many parts that need to start moving first, in terms of contracts and transfers out. - Omari, Delap, O’Shea, Davis all possible exits - Ogbene, Muric - do they have futures here? - Broadhead, Szmodics, Philogene, J.Clarke - there’s 4 operators from the left, it’s unbalanced - need to move 1 or 2 on from that group of 4. Re our 4 LW's, think it's more than plausible that all 4 stay until at least Jan. Both Ogbene/ Burns will likely not be fit to play big minutes to start the season so Philogene will have to cover that side initially. Equally, I think there is every chance Szmodics may well move over to assume the right sided 10 position in a more possession based team and certainly if Omari moves on. Broady might head off in search of a weekly starting spot but I'd be amazed if any of the other three were off after one season.
Your Top 3, plausible, signings for this Summer on 03:25 - May 13 with 37 views | WeWereZombies | I wonder if Nicolas Raskin at Rangers could be coached rapidly into a Championship player ? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicolas_Raskin He was impressive in the latest Old Firm game at Ibrox, at 24 he looks the right age for a McKenna / Ashton signing but he is not yet halfway through a four and a half year contract so would command a fee - but not as much as some of the other suggestions so far.
