It's a big issue for me. Bigger than many people realise. The adrenaline of his first wave of games got him through, but he's reverted to type since - a solid Championship keeper that's never going to be part of a team that establishes in the Prem. |

We're a parachute team in the Champ and should be operating/recruiting like a lower Prem team wherever possible. It's our best chance of becoming more than a yo-yo club. If we can get a GK that's more comfortable on the ball than Palmer (not difficult) with more upside potential in other areas, it's a deal that should be done.
Hladky was more important to the functioning of our 23/24 team than some people realise. You only have to look at Burns' Coventry trivela goal to see that. [Post edited 19 May 17:31]

Palmers record hadn't slipped under my radar! I think he's been very fortunate that he came in for Muric and had a few good games. But the team as a whole and certainly results have been worse while he;s been in goal - as your stats prove. I still maintain that Muric wasn't as bad as people would have us believe. Blimey - people should have watched Bruce Grobbelar in Liverpool's glory years! |

I think we've totally broken Muric; he made some mistakes, of course he did, being exposed by our aging midfield and poor left side defence.
And then Palmer was bought, and Muric dropped off the face of the planet having had pretty much zero public support. He has every right to be very annoyed at McKenna and Ipswich, and pushing for a move.
Which is a shame, I think he's our best keeper, with a decent defence in front of him. | | | |

I would be amazed. we went up with Hladky before and we have better keepers now then Hladky in my opinion and it will cost a big chunk of any transfer budget to better them. Only if we got a decent offer for Muric (which seems unlikely) would we do it.
