Marcus Evans 19:06 - May 26 with 1660 views | muccletonjoe | Remarkable how some as collective Ipswich supporters return to Marcus Evans tenure as owner to cheer themselves up , rather than face the problems of now

It certainly is to some people. A better point would be how quickly people have turned after being spoilt for the last couple of seasons.

I'm not sure Muccleton Joe has turned at all. I think they only posted some negative stuff when it looked like we might fall short of promotion in each of the last two seasons. I am fairly confident Muccleton remained consistently negative about Town throughout the past two seasons.

Marcus Evans on 20:59 - May 26 with 1313 views | Swansea_Blue | *shudders* I hope we never have an owner like Evans again. We’re MILES ahead of where he was taking us, both on and off the pitch, even if we have been relegated. I’m sure we’ll have a good crack at it next year, so let’s just see what happens.

To some, anything that is remotely factual is automatically transformed into negative. Isn't much anyone can do about that.

Can you point me to anything positive you have commented about the club at any time, though?

Sorry, this what? Nobody is ignoring the problems of now. Or to put it more accurately challenges. After a hard, difficult, disappointing season the people that I chat to at PR are perfectly realistic. I and they understand the progress that has been made and the ground that has been lost with relegation. To properly understand one needs context. Namely, where we started pre Gamechanger heading for L2 and worse to where we got to, to where we are now. That’s not the same as harking back to the Robson or even Burley eras (which I was lucky enough to witness). Great memories, but they are of a completely of a different time and bear no relevance or comparison. The game has changed and like it or otherwise, it is what it is. However, it is relevant to refer to the Evans era as our starting point just as it is relevant to understand how short we are in competing in the Premier League and as a football club (yoof, scouting, ground, facilities, expertise). Our recent history, good and bad, will make us stronger if used wisely and if we are lucky enough to reach the Premier League again in the next couple of years. Just my opinion just as you have yours.
Marcus Evans on 08:38 - May 27 with 599 views | TRUE_BLUE123 | "The Problems of now" Good grief. We got relegated from the Premier League as a promoted club with no parachute money. We aren't going in to administration, we aren't in disarray and we aren't going in to this championship season in a bad situation at all. We had a tough season, that is it, the club is in a great place and maybe it will take a few weeks for some people to realise it but these OTT posts are just absurd.

They are absurd but sadly, I suspect realisation and reality will always be lost on some, not least because they are so comfortable in negativity and misery - and in some cases trolling.
