I'd hope it's more likely to be Tomoki Iwata. He has been Birmingham's standout player. He's also one of the closest like-for-like replacements out there for Luongo. Excellent positional awareness and IQ, plus 4 years younger. He plays a similar role filling in for their all out attack full back Laird. | | | |

I think we’re all a bit in the dark on this one. Iwata doesn’t fit the description of full back who rarely plays, IF we consider his natural position (40+ appearances this season). But he could do if you only look at the times he’s filled in at left back. And of course does fit the nationality. | |
