The whistle in the crowd 20:35 - May 31 with 1201 views_clive_baker_

Is annoying me. Also reminded me of an incident with town a few years ago when some bell in the crowd blew one. Was it Pompey away?

That was a subplot in the infamous Charlton away game that became somewhat overshadowed by what happened at the end.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

I remember a pre-season friendly with a European team where their manager/coach kept whistling from the bench (I think to gain attention to pass on instructions). The ref went over and told him to stop I am sure. Not so easy when it's in the crowd, though. The same with the lasers they shine in players' eyes. I guess the only answer is to tell clubs that if their fans do it at all, they need to make an announcement that they must stop. Any continuance and the club gets severe punishments.

I think TJJ was through on goal at one point and stopped because of that whistle.

The ref went over and spoke to the fourth official and they put a couple of tannoy announcements out.

Osasuna:

Town 2-1 Osasuna 2nd Aug 2004 22:56
Town ended their pre-season campaign with a 2-1 win over Spanish side Osasuna. Despite their victory, it was a disappointing display from the Blues with both summer signings, Kevin Horlock and Jason De Vos, leaving the field due to injury. 0

Didn't it also happen away at Sheffield Wednesday at around the same time? There was a warning via the PA, if I remember rightly.

Just checked and you're right. I think I was conflating the Charlton and Wednesday matches.
