Apologies, amended for my peace of mind and whilst the puns were good it was a more serious question.
Does anyone think Morsy goes to the middle east... on 08:58 - Jun 3 with 1539 views | homer_123 | I'm likely in a minority here. Love Morsy and think he's great. He'll do a job for us in the Championship this season but if he left (on the proviso we adequately replaced him), I don't think it would be the end of the world. He's been a brilliant player and captain for us but as we continue to progress, all players will become expendable. Personally, for him, I'd like to see him get a massive pay day, he deserves that as well. Don't get me wrong, delighted if he stays. [Post edited 3 Jun 9:04]

Seems I sit alongside you Homer As much as he’s been immense for us over the few seasons , things evolve and if we’re going to push on yet again I see no harm in allowing Sam to move on if we have provision set aside for a more than capable replacement. If it’s beneficial for both parties I really see no harm and he’d go with more gratitude than any other player in recent times At times he has been super human but I do also think he’s slowing down and a good financially beneficial time spent in Saudi would be a fitting reward for him and his family

Working backwards, might I assume that it originally said 'Moray'? No doubt TheBlueGnu will be along shortly to give us an anecdote about Moray Watson, Rumpole's buddy in Chambers, George Frobisher who later sold out to become a circuit judge.

Does anyone think Morsy goes to the middle east... on 09:32 - Jun 3 with 1269 views | Len_Brennan | This Summer we need to recruit with an eye on playing Premier League football next season. We have a strong squad as it is, are financially competent, have parachute payments & are favourites to win the Championship, so there is no need to feign modesty & pretend that is not our aim, or indeed our expectation. With that in mind, we can look at Morsy & recognise that he will not be part of our matchday squad come September 2026, if/when we are back in the Premier League; so while we all really like him & know how important he has been over the last few years, we can allow ourselves to think beyond his time here, especially if he gets a great contract at this stage of his career. If we bring in 3 midfielders of high quality & potential, I think we will all thank Sam & wish him well. [Post edited 3 Jun 9:35]

He's 33, so still likely to have at least a couple more top-level seasons in him (and pace was never his primary attribute). However, Town need to conduct an orderly succession, both in midfield and as Captain.

Does anyone think Morsy goes to the middle east... on 10:58 - Jun 3 with 1049 views | PioneerBlue | He might do but why would that be for free. Notwithstanding the fact that we have a lot of change happening in that midfield and having a stabilising force on off the pitch would be helpful. That said, if he were to be rolled back a bit that could be a reason for saying he goes out at the top and moves to his next challenge. I would be surprised that’s all.

No way does he have a couple of seasons at the top level left in him. That is why we failed on the Premiership. You can't have the luxury of a midfielder without any pace who has served us well in lower leagues. Every player has to be of premiership standard and pace and quick decision making and athleticism is the difference between championship and Premiership. He has been fantastic but well paid for it and there's no room for sentiment as we have found out. Not many can do the Premiership at 33 to 35 and I wouldn't say he is one, unfortunately. Hopefully he gets a big payday, but that shouldn't be the Club's priority.
