England to win the world cup next year
or
Ipswich to bounce back to the prem?

Ipswich 100%

I don't even know when England are playing half the time (didn't know about last night's game). There's only so many times you can be let down before you go past caring.

On the other hand Town were absolutely terrible and stuck in the mud for the best part of two decades, England gave us some good excitement during the end of that era.

I'm both, this club before country thing is a pointless argument as it's not like they are playing each other or at the same time.

Ipswich promoted. Easy. Club before country in football terms.

This statement is always so weird to me and if you think about it doesn't even make much sense. Someone must have said it once and thought it sounded smart.

I'll go against the grain here and say England.

The reason is I think Ipswich would most likely get promoted the year after anyway, and another season of winning more than losing in the Championship isn't the worst thing!!

England winning the world cup is something I've never experienced so I'd love to experience that just once in my life!!!

If it was Ipswich winning a major trophy then that would be different....

If you're going to narrow it down to the worst bit of Town's history, then yeah. But why would you do that?

Of course nobody has to choose in reality, that's the nature of a hypothetical question.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Because it was recent and half of my life!

Fair enough, that's your prerogative. I prefer to judge over all of my life, and in that time England have let me down every single time. Even with 20 years of cr@p I can't say that about Ipswich.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Ipswich first for me.

Would love a World Cup of course!

As I've got older feel like Ive lost a bit of the international tournament buzz. Tend to get into it a bit as we go but not like in your teens and twenties. That's peak World Cup/Euros fever. Much more interested in club footie now.

Well you can, we didn't have any meaningful games for forever and the ones we did have we lost to West Ham, Arsenal and Norwich.

Luckily then came gamechanger and KM.

Haha, I’d take Ipswich gaining a point in an end of season meaningless fixture over England ever winning again. I love my country and hope the football, rugby, cricket, Olympic teams etc do well. But club comes first. Simple as that.

No contest Town all the way . That would have been unthinkable 30-40 years ago. But on a number of levels I have less and less time for the International team.

There were plenty of meaningful games won either side of those 20 years, but depends if you were around to see them of course.

England have less chances to win something, but they've failed in all of my 52 years. With each passing tournament I'm less invested and excited because I know how it's going to end.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Latter, Ipswich always. I haven't really been behind England since Venable 96. Crikey, almost 30 years ago.

If you're digging up digs from 25 years ago I know you're getting desperate!

Sometimes a solo career empowers the bit player when a group splits up.

However, poor old blueas is morphing into the no-mark from Take That that no one remembers, when a burgeoning solo career, free from band politics beckoned…

Sad times.

Not even a question.

Do you genuinely feel that way? I’d love England to win the World Cup..

Ipswich all day for me. Since they moved the world cup to places like Qatar/Saudi, increased it to whatever amount of teams it is now, added in endless international breaks - and the fact our manager/s continue to pick the same old faces - I have zero interest in the national side.
