Just to add to the countless posts I can see Brentford wanting KMac but not necessarily him wanting them .. whereas with Brighton I do/did see the attraction for him.
No disrespect towards Brentford but they are very much a team moulded in Frank and their better players may follow him.Brighton are more established have more growing global potential and an endlesss supply of players of quality.although they are both very similar in setup owner and mission wise I can’t see why he would go there… it feels even more of a sideways step than Brighton did before we knew better. |  |

If he does a sound job there and gets a couple of years of PL experience under his belt... then it's a platform to get himself a top six job. I see it as a stepping stone to the big league job. And probably a safer option.
Many are mentioning that Brentford can't afford to lose their best players, but they're pretty decent at dealing with recruitment and replacing players.. and we need to do well with recruitment to compete next season. They're better at that than us.
I think if Kieran stays... its because he's settled here and has affection for the club. Seems to make a lot of sense that Brentford is a handy stepping stone up the ladder. But hopefully Kieran will back himself and stick here.

Absolutely we really don’t need this rumbling on for many reasons as mentioned in other threads.
If Brentford do sort themselves out without our gaffer would that be it or there any other clubs I can’t think of right now that would have their eyes on him that he’d consider …I guess not ? | |

Any established PL club is a big stride forward from where we are today. This was hammered home in rather ruthless fashion. Bridging this divide requires us to fulfill expectations now (no mean feat) and then follow up immediately with a superlative season - one for the ages. It's a difficult double to do.

But . . . almost certainly already operating close to their peak considering they have little opportunity for stadium expansion, a low fanbase, competing with more established London PL sides and the club infrastructure has effectively been built around the exiting manager. There is little opportunity for growth.
Taking over Brentford now is a hiding to nothing imo, success is keeping them mid-table, maybe winning a cup.
A short term step up, but certainly not when looking at Medium to Long term, can achieve the same with Ipswich and then do what Frank has done and move to a club which realistically has the capacity to challenge top 4. [Post edited 13 Jun 8:52]

I think it's all about whether he views us as 'his project', like it's his baby, his business that he is growing and bringing on and pushing forward and building his way.
Or whether it is just a standard career path and he just wants up to the next level and all the rewards that go with it, but also the drawbacks and the losing of that sense of achievement in some ways.
Similar to the way some on here, and people generally have had struggles about whether to leave a known progressive quantity and head for a potentially soulless corporation for the big bucks and spotlight. |  | | |

Well its a risk - do you take the risk on not getting back up with Ipswich and potentially being sacked if things go wrong at a championship club. Or do you take the risk of going to a mid table premiership club. Too many on here are wearing the blue tinted glasses. There is no guarantee he can achieve at Ipswich what Frank has at Brentford. He could go to Brentford have a couple of good seasons then get offered a higher role. It is less risky than staying at Ipswich unfortunately. | | | |

I'm not sure I agree with that. He's clearly got credit in the bank and owners that rate him very much and will give him patience.
At any new club he's starting on zero, but with plenty of expectation on his potential. He'll be back competing in a demanding Premier League with owners keen not to see them relegated.
If things went badly for him at say, Brentford, I can't see their owners being patience under pressure and the threat of relegation.
For McKenna, it's probably less risky at Town because he's got that credit in the bank, has had the time to establish what he needs, know what support and infrastructure is there so support him and a good working relationship with the hierarchy. |  |
