Just bought themselves a decent CB pairing for the coming season?

Anyone’s guess, all you can say is they must be better than those last two cart horses Duffy and whoever they chose to partner him ……time will tell .

Hard to say. Medic comes with a lot of hype but looks a gamble as he only played 9 games for Ajax before they tried to get rid (one year into his 5 year deal). He also only started half of Bochum's games last season and they didn't take up the option to buy. Relegation could be part of that but apparently their new manager wasn't a fan.

One that seems like it will be a bargain or a disaster.

Truly impaired.

Not sure who they've bought, but I doubt it'll be a better pairing than Greaves and O'Shea.

We did last season but new pairings take time. Time will tell for them. But their squad is much weaker than ours :)

If that is Medic & Darling they are both right footed.

Swansea fans were over the moon to upgrade Darling with Burgess, they weren’t convinced by Darling at all.

The Ajax chap looks a complete gamble could be decent but could be way off the standard.

The only Muff in Town.

Great insight J2.... just hope they haven't pulled off a good deal here tbh.

Leo: Swansea have got a helluva freebie from us IMHO. Gutted to see him leave.

I agree but wouldn't be a regular starter for us so. Good home for Burgess makes me happy.

Greaves, though you don't believe it, is a massive upgrade on Burgess. Best defender in the division for me last champ campaign for Greaves. Burgess was good for us but it's so forgotten how many goals we shipped which was basically our main weakness. (Partly system, partly Burgess and Woolf not being quite the quality some think - though perfectly capable at champ level in a very good team)

I presume Darling was with Manning at MK Dons? Never looked like anything more than a pretty average Championship defender to me, and didn’t appear to be any real competition for his signature from higher up the food chain on a free. Middling championship player at best.

When Greaves first came into the team, I thought, blimey, hes switched on and looked very assured, and seemed to win everything. An a nice upgrade I was thinking. Then when he came back k into the team after injury, hes seemed to struggle, looking hesitant, making wrong decisions, not getting to the ball etc, and I wondered where the hell the player we'd sugbed, had gone. I appreciate the PL was a massive e step up, but whenever Burgess came bavk into the team, he just seemed to manage better. Maybe it was just his greater experience from being older. Anyway, I'm hoping Greaves recaptures his form and some how ( prays hard) , we can keep hold of O'Shea, because when both on their game will be hard pushed to be bettered by another other CC CB pairing this coming season.

Norwich's CB department is strengthening.
Ours is weakening.
Both of these facts are regrettable.

However, I would swap our CB department for theirs. Or any other department for that matter.

We have lost a CB we couldn't guarantee a starting place so yes our collective unit is weakening.

Barnet have signed two CBs so theirs is strengthening as well. Both comparisons completely meaningless without context.

Our three remaining CBs walk into Norwich's starting 11.

Precisely - and we don’t yet know who will be brought in to replace Cam to add to the group.

No but he is 26 and upto 2 seasons ago he had never played above 2nd tier in Germany so that doesn’t look great.

Yes, I follow German football, as many here do.

He’s very accomplished/confident and technical.

Would have been more than happy with him being an ITFC signing.

Will be interesting to find out your thoughts on the 6 goals we managed to score against Greaves and his defence last season. I'd also love to know how many Hull games you sat through to watch Greaves last season.

Burgess is better than him. Purely because of the *team*. He brings out the best in Leif Davis, who yet again will have to be our best player to have any chance of top 2. Davis next to Greaves is a car crash.

The *team* is when players are better than others. Unfortunately, across the last 12 months, Ashton & McKenna seem to have forgotten this.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Invest NOW in shares in firms making incontinence products, because the amount of wet beds and soiled nappies this summer is already HUGE.
