I'd be gutted to see young Hutchinson leave. I suppose the saving grace is we're pretty well stocked in the attacking areas. Quite honestly if he did go I'd be tempted to not replace him with a permanent signing right now. Maybe a loan, but Szmodics, Philogene, J. Clarke, Chaplin, Broadhead, Ogbene is a very strong 6. Further cover in Taylor who has played 10, and young Cameron will be desperate for his chance off the back of his Wycombe loan. Plus a returning Burns, and the boy Johnson who could occupy the right side role (although probably not an ideal solution at this level).
I think I'd keep my powder dry on permanent additions there if Omari goes and go big in CM and #9. Hopefully that leaves the wiggle room to go hard IF we're to go back up. Rak-Sakyi might play a role, but then what? He doesn't look a Premier league player and if he did you would think Palace would keep him. It might actually solve what currently looks a bit of a selection headache and give Philogene the runway he needs. Not that I want us to lose Omari of course. |  | | |

If O'Shea and Greaves get a good partnership going, then they will be fine for our next PL season. Davis will get better with another year under his belt. Clarke, Philogene and Ogbene will also improve with regular game time. IF we go back up, I inly see us needing to teak rather than overhaul the squad. CM is key to all of this of course. | |

Those 3 are all wingers, mainly on the right and Hutch often plays 10 for us and played on the left for England very well.

I'd wish it otherwise, but we have already lost the three players whom nobody doubted had premiership quality in them. Meanwhile, those who suggest that Ogbene, Clarke, Philogene, Greaves, and even Davis will mature over the coming season to be of definite Prem quality are relying on an uncertain scenario, given the chasm in the season we've just witnessed. I think that, if not in this window, then the next, we are likely to see at least 3 very significant upgrades in the spine, however strong our Championship challenge is. | |
