At the time that competition completely passed me by - does anyone remember where it was advertised? And did people enter simply by sending in A4 size paper with a kit design on it?

That was Sheff Wed away where we wore an orange shirt with the white shirts (with blue slash) as they were wearing black shorts.
Not sure why we did that as when we played them away (lost 1-0) a few seasons ago we wore all black despite them also wearing black shorts. | | | |

Football kits weren't as insanely huge then as they are now, so it probably had the sort of profile it warranted at the time.
The way in which football kits have exploded over the last ten years or so is absolutely mind-boggling. The market will burst at some point, leaving lots of people holding an awful lot of very expensive polyester. | |

I’m sure the fella who designed the shirt has been on here in the past, revealing that his submitted design had plain shorts and it was the club who decided to extend the swoosh onto the shorts. |  | | |

Yup remember all of it and bought the shirt.
Which went missing after an acrimonious break up. The EX completely denied taking the shirt which led me to think I'd left it in holiday luggage etc.
While in all probability the Witch was probably cutting it up and performing voodoo rituals with it.
