Less Bindon more Bindoff I guess.

I like him but it wouldn't have made any sense for Forest to have loaned him here, given the traffic that would have been in front of him at CB. I think our fourth choice CB will either be Baggott or a veteran who isn't too fussed about game time.

Hasn't made 1 Championship appearance.
I think we're shopping in a totally different market to Sheff United.
A lot is also being made about Birmingham's signings...but really, are they in the same ball park at this level vs the likes of Philogene, Hutchinson, Szmodics, Clarke...Personally, i don't think so.
Recency bias is blinding a lot of Town fans. At this level, we have an INCREDIBLE squad that just needs a bit of patching in areas like CM.
Look at our back 4 : Johnson - O'Shea - Greaves - Davis. Can you name a better player in each position at this level? I'm struggling.

As good as a player I think he is, and if we needed a first choice LCB I’d be all over it.

The reality is we need a comfortable understudy to Jacob Greaves, who likely won’t get maximum game time, but reliable when required.

Preferred choice probably Hordur Magnusson, 50x capped Icelandic, who did play at Brizzle with Ashton, just left Panathinaikos, left footed good CB option, at 32 a two year deal.

Ben Mee and Scott McKenna alternative options.

If you don’t realise he’s a top, top player you don’t know football.

Possibly too good for us.

Agreed.

I think we're in a good position though.
Fortunately, we're only 3-4 players shy of having a complete squad of 25, and for players to leave, a King's ransome has to be paid.

Removing the blue tinted specs, that's a far stronger position than Soton and Leicester in particular are in.

I have a feeling the club might stick with Baggott as fourth-choice centre-back.
He’s very good on the ball, physically an absolute colossus, and Steve Bruce was giving him rave reviews last season. At 22, it feels like the right time for him to push on. Around 5–10 appearances this season would serve his development nicely.

“You don’t know football”

That’s a little over the top. Are you his agent?

Comment is that we’re probably not looking for a 20yo loanee at CB, and are in the market for more experienced players in different positions.

Big step up from League One to the Championship for a 20 years old centre back. Who know's, he might be great, but for a side with top 2 aspirations, you'd most likely favour someone with proven experience at this level. I'm sure Greaves, Woolfenden and O'Shea would all look like Ronald Koeman in League One at their current level.

Also no point wasting a loan slot on a player in a position we have strong options in.

Yes I am.

I also have a Napoli midfielder on my books I’m trying to offload, but nobody wants him!

There's this tendency by some to equate shiny brand new things as intrinsicly better for some reason.

As well as any signing for another team makes that player magically 'great' because we didn't get them. Quite honestly the only player i'd like to have seen here that has gone elsewhere is Tommy Doyle - think Brum have done well there. But even that's only on loan and i'd want a permanent.

Our most important work has been keeping Hirst and O'Shea at the club. Both were linked with a return to the Premier league.

We'll obviously get more in, if some others depart but for me the obvious areas to spend big are 2 in midfield and another striker.
