Not that unusual, we've had managers' sons in the academy before. Also I seem to remember being told that back in the day, Bobby Robson wanted to sign Bruce Rioch but he wanted the club to sign his brother Neil as well and the deal didn't happen.

Do we know why he was released by Peterborough. I recall there was a bit of fallout after he didn't come on against his Dad (which was silly as manager choice)?

I guess what I'm asking is if he is still pretty highly rated but was always likely to go in the summer and it was less about ability?
