Hutch replacement 11:56 - Jul 24 with 2623 viewsbournemouthblue

if Hutch does move on, do we already have someone in the building with a similar profile to him in Mendel-Idowu who by all accounts is a tricky winger with pace, presumably quite raw but talented or are we likely to loan him out somewhere and find a more experienced Hutch replacement?

Obviously the likes of Ogbene and Burns may cover the absence any way but they aren't direct swaps for Hutch

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!
Poll: How much for Omari

We certainly have more than we had during our promotion season. We’ve added Clarke, Szmodics, Ogbene, Philogene and lost Sarmiento and soon to lose Hutch. Plus Johnson can also cover the Burns role. So that’s 2 more options than in our promotion season.

2 CMs would be my priority. And yeah, then another good striker.

We also had Harness and Jackson last time around. Not saying either are regrettable loses or you would want them back, but purely in terms of numbers we've tended to carry about 8 for those 3 roles.

If Omari goes as expected, and Broadhead potentially moves on as well then we're looking at Szmodics, Philogene, Clarke, Chaplin as the 'core 4' initially. Ogbene and Burns makes 6 but both have been long term absentees. Johnson offers versatility although probably not the ideal profile for the right hand side at this level.

It's almost certainly 1 out 1 in from where we stand today I would think.

McKenna literally said himself last weekend that there will still be movement both in and out this summer, so I don't know why people (not necessarily you) seem to think it will be 1 in, 1 out. We can sign as many players as we like up until the first game of the season and leave players out accordingly.

The fact we was prepared to carry a player between September-January unregistered had our dealings on deadline day went through just shows that.

Poll: We’ve got super KM, he knows exactly what we need. Woolfie at the back…

There's definitely plenty of movement to come in and out, the point around 1 in 1 out is if Omari goes he's almost certainly being replaces. Same for Broadhead. We wont move them both on and not back fill them.

I would say that is precisely why KM was so keen on getting Philogene in as he knew the likelihood of Hutcbinson remaining at the club was pretty low and seeing as the main idea of the club seems to be similar to other clubs who rely on buying players, bringing them on and then shifting them at a profit so as to fill the coffers of Gamechanger who will now rely on the playing side of the club to be funded by sales, merchandise, ST's and parachute payments whilst they will invest in infrastructure with the ultimate aim of selling the club.

I know the premiership is so much more demanding hence these injuries, as you indicate two long term but bearing in mind only Clarke out of your core 4 wasn't absent for a period of time,
Worrying times let's home the medical staff have got the three fit,

Palmer, Walton, Muric

Davis, Townsend
Greaves, Kipre, Baggott
O'Shea, Woolfy
Young, Johnson, Clarke

Matusiwa, Morsy
Taylor, Humphreys

Clarke, Philogene, Broadhead
Szmodics, Chaplin
Hutchinson, Burns, Ogbene

Hirst, Al-Hamadi

That's 27 right there, and given we're probably expecting most or all of Muric, Baggott, Morsy, Omari, Humphreys, H. Clarke and Al-Hamadi to move on, that's 5 in to get us back to 25. If Broadhead goes that's another in. Almost certainly will want a 3rd forward as well.

He'd be miles of it, we would likely need a left footed one on one dribbler either on loan or as a purchase

Rak-Sakyi is heavily linked with Rangers and one we liked before

Rak-Sakyi was the name I heard. I also wonder if we might look at Tyrique George on loan from Chelsea.

I really like George but think we need a leftie to give us that balance back among the options so Rak-Sakyi a better fit in that regard

Was probably one of their better players as they battled relegation and cost 18million euros with potentially another 6million euros in add ons (which may or may not have been triggered).

Might be a deal to be done slightly below that and if he fancied a move back to the UK. He'd be right at the top of my list.

In a Word, No.
Nobody here strikes me as an immediate replacement.
