Not that you’d know. Thoughts on this guy’s pitch? Ideologically heavy and detail light, but it’s refreshing to hear a positive message and put people before profit.
⏳Final week to sign up to the Green Party.
🗳️ Vote for Bold Leadership on August 1st.
Funnily enough, I was watching a video on this the other week.
You've effectively got two camps in the Greens apparently, the ex-Labour people who want a "proper" left-leaning party with some environmentalism and then you've got a slightly more middle-class "nimby" side which is much more heavily focused on environmentalism.

This guy is representing the former camp.
Video if anyone is interested:
Thanks, I know very little about them so will give that a look. I found it refreshing that someone was prepared to speak out against the rise in xenophobia, corruption, etc. But I’m ignorant around the policies of the different camps and don’t know who else is standing.

Driving home from football, I caught the end of a long debate between the two candidates on iain Dale's LBC show. Apparently, there's no love lost between the two camps - seems like quite a choice the members have there.
Has anyone ever looked at their own postings for last day or so? Oh my... so sorry. Was Ullaa

It's effectively urban greens (left-wingers) vs rural ones (nimbys). Hence why they've been successful in winning in both inner-city London and rural Suffolk.
I think the German Green Party is similar and has been quite successful in conservative-ish rural areas like Baden-Württemberg

Didn't really say much. Just more vague promises of change.
Sure, there’s no detail on what they would do. However, just calling out the problems around chancers stoking racial tension, the widening wealth gap and systematic destruction of our environment for profit makes what he said pretty unique in the UK political discourse these days.
It’s the kind of language I would have once expected Labour to use before they were bought out by the big business and banking lobbyists. We desperately need a party to be genuine and put people and where we live first. Whether this guy can carry off something approaching that is another matter. I’m convinced people will rally around a positive message though. It doesn’t all have to be demonising foreigners and sucking up to private enterprise.

If he had just slipped in 'argh, yer, I'm gonna legalise weed as well' he may be a candidate for my new favourite politician.

Leitrim, I think you may have just invented a new meme (or did you nick it from somewhere?)
I like what this guy is saying. First politician I've heard to express this so honestly. We are a 1st world country, but we don't look like it any more - the entire country is shabby and worn out. No one has any money. Why? Where's all the money gone? Well I know, and this guy knows as well.

I listened to some of that. At first I assumed it was a Green member debating a Reform or Tory member, such was the animosity between the two. One refused to say that he even liked the other.
