Any chance of us getting him now Hackneys off?

Strongly doubt we can pull it off but what do I know. The transfer market has gone insane. Hackney agreed terms came down for the medical and photo shoot and pulled out. Azor was as easy as pie. 🤷🏻

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Are you sure it went that far?

If the story behind “give me £15m and I’ll sign “ is correct I really can’t see it happening

Not very keen on this signing, especially for what he would cost. He was better in the number ten for Burnley than when he played deeper.

That’s kinda how most free transfers work and so why it’s become more of a thing. You get a big chunk of what the transfer would’ve been as a signing on fee - they’re far far far from free transfers!

Cannot see why he would, unless he messed up big time thinking a prem club would give him a huge signing bonus and that doesn’t happen, maybe then we are next choice.

The only Muff in Town.

Hard to say.

Rumours are he wants a big signing on fee, but as yet doesn't have a club.
Ultimately he has three 3 options
1. Gets the large signing on fee
2. Accepts a smaller signing on fee
3. Doesnt get a signing on fee or new club and earns ÂŁ0 from football.

The longer it goes without a club offering 1. I would assume 2. becames his realistic option.

If we offered Brownhill ÂŁ5M sign on and a 3 year contract at ÂŁ50K per week (around what he was on at Burnley) then that's ÂŁ12.8M if my maths correct so cheaper than HH.

Yes ceiling lower than HH and unlikely we recover that much on any future transfer fee but right now the goal is the c.ÂŁ180M prize pot of PL money.

Brownhill has good experience at Champ and PL levels but is he more advanced midfielder than we really need?

To an extent yes... but ÂŁ15m for a 29 year old championship specialist is ridiculous. ÂŁ5m is maybe understandable.

I dont think having an advanced midfielder is a bad idea. Yes, it was PL, but last season we did suffer with situations where both CMs were too far away to support the forward line, and then too far away to help the defence. Having a natural defensive and forward CM pairing, makes sense.
