First things for the football regulator to do 12:17 - Aug 5 with 1172 viewsCheltenham_Blue

1. Matches where clubs are in excess of 150 miles apart can only be moved to 12:30 or 5:30 Saturday, or 3pm Sunday kick offs for TV coverage.

2. Matches where opposing clubs are in excess of 150 miles apart may not be moved to Monday night or Friday night kick offs for TV coverage.

3. Midweek matches must kick off no later than 7:30pm on weekdays, or 7pm where there is inadequate return travel.

4. SkySports are forbidden from interspacing their trails and adverts with shots of fans watching and celebrating at grounds, which gives a false impression that Sky care about fans.

Anything else?

It’s got to be things like selling the women’s team to help with PSR. We need them to crack down financially first. Then sort things like kick off times etc.

You seem to be under the misguided view that football has something to do with the fans

I make you right, but I’d set a time limit. 150 miles in Wales can take all day!

Immediate end to “undisclosed” transfer fees. All transfer fees should be transparent.

I hope not.

1) If our game at Newcastle next season is moved for TV, I would much rather 8pm on a Friday night than a 12:30 Saturday.

3) 8pm kick offs make it easier to get away from work midweek.

The terms of reference of the Football Regulator are likely to be restricted to financial sustainability & governance. There will be some pandering to fan involvement, but I doubt they will try to restrict the terms of broadcast deals, especially kick off times & dates.

5. All televised matches must feature a halftime segment hosted by Floella Benjamin, in which she gently narrates the dreams of tropical fish from the Great Blakenham Aquatic Appreciation Society. Any fish exhibiting telepathic tendencies or supporting Ipswich Town shall be granted honorary season tickets and a rosette.

6. Substitutions may only be made if the player being replaced is gifted a commemorative Wetherspoons table number and escorted off by a member of the Bucklesham Gnome Choir, who shall perform a reedy version of "There Goes My Hero" on kazoo and watering can.

Step 1. Have a meeting to establish the terms of reference of the new regulatory body.

Step 2. Have a meeting to liquidate the regulatory body because FIFA have decided it is government interference in football and banned England from all competitions.

Step 3. Go down the pub.
