What a really poor quality game of football that was 12:07 - Aug 9 with 1245 views | textbackup | The 3/4 occasions when we turned it on completely blows them away. And when they put a few passes together it ended with them putting it out for a throw in. Don’t want to focus on them too much, but if they make top 6 I’ll be surprised. Us on the other hand, so much work to be done, of course in context of the game/event it was going to be tough. But to not have a shot on target with ‘our attack being embarrassing at this level’ well, not sure what to say really. Personally I just can not believe we have seen Burgess go and Greaves in ahead of him. As a CB you have to attack the ball, not hope for a foul to be given, leave nothing to chance. To come away with a point was probably fair, but my goodness, over to MA to get some help in

I honestly don’t know. But if we don’t bring in another CM and atleast 1 ST by the end of the month we better hope that KM has a plan to get the best from JC etc.

What a really poor quality game of football that was on 12:14 - Aug 9 with 1126 views | le2blue | We looked like what we are, a team that hasn't had enough time together on the training ground to be really clicking and having the fluency of a top-level team, we are also very much work in progress. The contrast with the way we played vs Sunderland first game of the season was quite marked. But we have the best manager possible, and he will get it sorted. To come away from that game and atmosphere with a point was a fantastic result. Burgess was fantastic for us, but Greaves was the best defender in the league a year ago, and I suspect that Kieran will get him going and elevate his performances. I think we need a new goalkeeper, Palmer's kicking limitations mean we're not able to execute our usual pattern of play from the back, and i think it is also impacting our defence confidence. We also have a lot of incomings to work on, as you say. Pressure is now very much on.

As 42mill of that talent has either gone or wants out? Is that the answer you were looking for?

Let's not bring some actual critical thinking to this now.

Very obvious foul on Greaves. My concern is, albeit early, we have a lot of good players for the level. Without doubt. Im just not sure how many of them fit the system. Clarke, Szmodics, Johnson.

I found the lack of cohesion concerning given they've had quite long together now, imo. Maybe not on Saturday afternoons, but hundreds of hours in training, you'd imagine, between Clarke, Szmodics, Hirst, and the substitutes who came on. Yet Clarke and Szmodics don't appear particularly suited to their roles within the team, and Johnson doesn't appear suited to his. A lot of those who have done wonders under KM clicked quite quickly into their roles, from memory. Leif, debut excluded, Luongo, Broadhead, Morsy, Burns, Chaplin, Hirst.. I don't remember them arriving as square pegs in round holes, being reshaped into something they originally weren't. Taylor is probably our best example of a player we haven't been able to reshape despite extensive training, and I worry a bit if others may soon provide real competition here. Hopefully with more control in the middle we'll be able to turn a corner with these guys. They've demonstrated their talent before at this level under different systems.

We all have our opinions. But mine says Greaves was a liability. And responsible for their goal.

Attack, head that ball out of play, and they don’t score.

Yet players who have been brought in as upgraded seem to be struggling to fill the gaps . Part of that may be our style of play not suiting their strengths. It is early days, admittedly, but even accepting central midfield was a known issue, I was surprised at how disjointed we looked across the pitch.

I was annoyed lastnight, have since come round to thinking that it’s take the point and move on. Probably the toughest away game of the season, with the circus around it. I just hope KM sits down with MA and says ‘mate, we need a hand’

I think that is incredibly harsh. No way was he a liability and I was more annoyed at palmer for their goal. An aimless clipped ball that didn't even reach the halfway line. Ball had to go.

As long as we bring in the right players. As, for now, it feels like we've gone from a squad which was more than the sum of it's parts to one that is less.

What a really poor quality game of football that was on 13:44 - Aug 9 with 569 views | itfcsuth | We were poor last night, particularly with quality in possession - KMc knew that after the game as well. Biggest concern right now is our front line connections, something that was so prominent in our previous successes with Burns-Chaplin-Broadhead trio, their understanding and fluidity was outstanding. Looked polar opposite last night, and we need to settle on them front line combinations very quickly, I’d be looking at: Szmodics - Chaplin - Ogbene Broadhead - Chaplin - Ogbene Broadhead - Szmodics - Ogbene

Only option there currently, and can cut him a little bit of slack given such a lack of game time over the past 12 months. Think he’s fairly due a run of games to find himself in our system, as a touchline winger, like Burns, he has all the qualities you’d want.
What a really poor quality game of football that was on 15:13 - Aug 9 with 362 views | FromReuserWithLove | Good summary of Greaves that. Last night and last season how many times after a 50/50 did he end up on the floor holding his head looking for a foul whilst the opposition either scored or had a big chance? He needs to want to win the ball at all costs. Kipre may find himself starting sooner than later.

Come on, some of that is valid, a parachute club ending up with that personnel on the pitch at the end is poor, whatever way you slice and dice it.
