Who do we buy with Hutchinson money ? Rather keep Broadhead (n/t) on 22:36 - Aug 10 with 1444 views | WestSussexBlue | Very good question, my answer would be no one. Keep Broady, very good player that is worth so much more to us than £7 million.

I think both will go before window closes although Hutchinson has a sore throat

I very much like Broady but for me new contract or move on . We have now had a good window in the circumstances another quality central midfielder and striker would make it an excellent one .

I love to watch Broadhead play but I think three things count against not selling him for £7m-ish: 1. He'll be great in the Championship, but he doesn't have the athleticism/strength/robustness for the Premier League and we have to take a (minimum) 2 season view. 2. He supposedly wants to go to Wrexham, he's been great for us and we shouldn't stand in his way if he's not crucial to that 2 season+ view, a la Morsy. 3. £7m-ish profit is very useful to us in PSR terms. We need to add power and robustness to our supporting forward ranks, one of our slight missteps in recruitment over the last couple of years which we are now starting to put right. Purely on his mindset to leave the club now. I'm sure the club will try to convince him but he wants the move. Probably the biggest 3 weeks in transfer window coming up now. Then settled squad for rest of the season.

Broadhead won’t be worth anything to us at the end of the season. £7m for a player entering the last year of his contract is an incredible deal.

I think the selling of Hutch is inevitable unfortunately but if at all possible it would be great to keep him but he would need to be happy to stay .

He’ll probs go late in the window for big money. Akpom looks like a direct replacement for Broadhead to me. We still need 4 or 5 players; flexible full back x2 CM x2 CF. Maybe a gun keeper too. Lots to do.

Yep. He’s not going to sign a new deal so one way of looking at it is, would we be happy paying a £7million loan fee + wages with no prospect of signing the player at the end of it? Is he good enough to demand that fee for one season? Because that’s essentially what we’re saying, are we happy to lose out on £7million to keep him for a year? Probably not in my opinion

Rather keep Broadhead (n/t) on 09:17 - Aug 11 with 243 views | _clive_baker_ | I love Broady but if he a) wants to go and b) we can fetch £7m for a player who will be out of contract next summer and leaving on a free, then it really is the only sensible option IMO from a financial perspective to do the deal. Omari has 4 years left on his deal, IF we can manage to keep him and he gets his head back down he can be massive for us this season, and he'll still likely be worth similar money next summer if that's what we decide to do. Despite the relative transfer values its less about revenue and more about profit, and the differential on that basis is 'only' about 2:1 on these deals. FWIW I think both go. Replacements wise Doak would be incredible but I can't see it, I think he goes to a prem side. Fellows is an obvious one, WBA to IPS is a path well trodden since Ashton and he's that explosive Burns like winger who would suit our style. Would cost a fair bit though I imagine.
