A downside to last night 08:29 - Aug 13 with 1866 views | Grumpy_Old_Man | When will squad players such as Walton, Woolfenden, Kipre and the like play their next game? But for injuries or suspensions it could be the F A Cup in January. How match fit will they be then? Some say the Carabao Cup is rubbish but we needed the run to keep these players involved in first team play!!

Even with Muric and Slicker having left for the season - you reckon we'd just have Palmer and Button?

Think that's harsh on Woolfenden and Kipre. They didn't do anything wrong. Walton... yep. As tough as it is to say, he's basically responsible for our exit.

We have 3 more keepers in the U21s. Henry Gray would likely warm the bench if needed.

I don't see that at all personally. The fee we would recoup isn't worth the upheaval in a busy window. If that were the case i'd take the chance to buy a new number 1 alllll day long.
A downside to last night on 10:46 - Aug 13 with 1221 views | Vic | They are only an injury to a 1st team player away from playing - like every player in their situation has ever been. I mean, how did the reserves feel during SBR's time when the first team was the same week in, week out? They just had to be professional and wait and then play out of thier skins to show they deserved to be in the team.

I'd argue the likes of Woolfenden, Burgess and Broadhead did prove they deserve to start when given the opportunity last season, but were not really rewarded for it.

I don't think Kipre is that good with his feet tbh. Great with 1 on 1 situations though.

Yes, Kipre and Woolfenden were two of our few good players last night. The person I feel sorry for in particular is Woolfy. I think Kipre will be in the matchday squad because he can play both left and right. And I think he has a chance of ousting Greaves. But that ain't going to happen for Woolfy with the club captain in his position and it seems not injury prone. That means he might not feature until the FA Cup third round, unless we revert for certain games to a back three. I am not sure Woolfy will be happy with that given his ability, [Post edited 13 Aug 11:27]

The Woolf has become a sacrificial Lamb. I have no wish to open up a Dara is better debate but Woolf is too good to be sitting on a bench in The Championship.

Walton won't go. We need three keepers in case of injury. Walton will be no2 behind Palmer

Had a keeper problem since hladky left, Not sure how he'd done in the prem but we went down with a whimper but class championship keeper, But maybe no good to the club now as our defence and midfielders aren't great at getting the ball to feet like we use to be, going backwards at a fast pace ATM,

Yep. This situation with Woolfie has been coming a long time, and I can’t say I like it. We risk ending up in a similar position with him as with Downes: losing him and spending more money in the long run trying to replace him. I just hope he stays. There won’t be many clubs in this league who have a player of his calibre who isn’t in the starting lineup.

A downside to last night on 21:55 - Aug 13 with 219 views | stonojnr | its interesting that before the game alot of people seemed to only want the first xi to play, after that game now people are worried about the squad players getting game time. really cant win can we. the fact they are squad players means theyll get games, thats the point in having them, not just to cover injuries or suspensions, but to rotate the team in case of form drops. weve got alot of midweek games in the league this season, players will be rested in some games to be stronger in others, KMcs squad philosophy of having 2 players per role means they should slot in easily. though no doubt we'll then see people moaning that KMc doesnt know his first 11, and tinkers too much with the team, the same team need to play every game...and so we go around the loop again.

McKenna tends to rotate the front line - not the centre backs.
