We had one in Coronation Road in Ippo, thing was coming up the toilet waste outlet, could hear it! Council advice, 'keep the lid down it's going for the light'! All very good until your sat on the lav with the Jaws music in your head. Anyway, completely unconnected we got a dog from Dogs Trust , a jack russell/Chiuaua, female, small compared to a normal jacj. One evening, the missus shouts to come look, one dead ratty on the step, one proud little jack! 85 quid well spent, shes now15 and still feisty as fcuk! I work for her!

If you have bird feeders you will have rats as well as birds.
They really are everywhere,my last outside cat used to go across the farm and hunt them in the barn,then bring them in and let them go in my bedroom.We got some humane traps in the end and used to catch them that way.
