In fact he didn't, and it isn't a thing in Spanish.

And for anyone who might be interested, under normal Spanish grammar rules, if Ivan were unaccented the stress would fall on the "I". And in the case of Azon, the stress would fall on the "A".

The accent in both names indicates the vowel where the stress falls, it being indicative of a difference from normal Spanish grammar rules.
