Jack Clarke should score for fun in this league....

Probably jinxed him royally now though!

Wasn't he doing that in preseason playing on the right? And now he is back to playing on the left and simply running into players.

He will, just get behind him. The lad has talent.

He does and I so want to see the Clarke who played for Sunderland in a Town shirt. He frustrates me at the moment but, as with every Town player, I want him to succeed.

We all want him to succeed of course, but what's worrying is he's had more than 40 games for Town so far, all pretty similar roles and asking of him and no progress whatsoever. After 40 games, you'd rightly expect more.

No, not in a poor-performing team in the Premier League. You shouldn’t expect more and everyone should judge him from this season

Fair enough, it's what I commented on another thread - he has been far worse this season in two games against Birmingham and Bromley (I don't know how to link the comment so will copy it here):
Against Birmingham: 1 out of 7 duels won, 11 possessions lost
Against Bromley: 7 out of 17 duels won, 14 possessions lost, 2 out of 7 dribbles successful

I'm sorry, that is just pure awful. If you were playing in a pub team and one guy lost you 25 balls in two games you'd be pissed.

Just watched the Omari highlight reel.... got to admit, Omari was a bit good at this level. We're going to miss his moments of magic. Could Jack Clarke drag himself of the floor and step into Omari's shoes? Unlikely.... but it would make him one hell of a hero if he could. We all like a redemption story.

For the goal against Birmingham he made no proper attempt to challenge at all. He jumped enough to be able to claim that he tried with no real intent to actual affect the opponent or the ball.

I agree, but sadly up to now he looks like the utter failure he was at Spurs. His recent stats are absolutely shocking, and his overall performances make his stats look good.

The one positive is that he hasn't stopped trying, at least with the ball at his feet.

Jack Clarke will come good because ultimately he's a very talented player with a ball at his feet.

He struggled like the whole squad, bar Delap and possibly Hutch, to handle the gigantic leap into the Premier League.

Clearly the experience rattled his self-confidence, but that's no basis to write a player off, especially one who has flourished at this level.

To his critics, give the guy a break and grow a football brain.

From a football brain: "the least amount of football is played with the ball at your feet".
While your belief in him is commendable, we were actually talking about his game in the championship, not PL.

Put jack on the right. Could well step into Omari's boots.

He was v poor against Bromley, but I'm not sure it's true to say that he's made no progress. I think there was a general consensus last season that there was improvement in his tracking back and off the ball stuff. He hasnt started thus season well so lets hope he really can get his mojo back when hes not in the shadow of Omari.
