And Sunderland match that on game day 1…

Going to ask it, do we over play KM?

We’ll be good again... one day

only one decade outside the prem. They left the Prem as a very poorly run, bonkers club and needed time to turn it round, but yes they have done very well. They had a pretty average last half of the season but have clearly strengthened well. Getting Xharka is fantastic business.

Their game tells us that they have the same number of PL home wins as we did. And they’ve done this in 1 game…

Nothing more nothing less

Except you added "Going to ask it, do we over play KM?"

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

By the same Logic, We took 4 points of Chelsea last year, so we must be champions of the world.
Absolute moronic deduction, no relevance in football at all. Have you never played or are you under 12??

personally, it seems at least to me at least, our subs have got later and later.

The point of subs is to improve the team at that point in the game or change the system. If the quality/style of players coming on is not going to achieve that then why change it aside from fitness.

Our quality of bench in the Championship and League One was one of the biggest factors in the promotion seasons, but in the prem our starting XI was some way off what we hoped it would be and the level of bench strength even further.

Compounded with loss of players through injury last season I find it very hard to accurately judge how poor McKennas tactical approach was.

I mean it’s 100% true.

And he’s paid champions league wages, in the EFL, so obviously we do .., guess if we go up and stay up, then actually we still do to a degree, but the revenue means it doesn’t matter.

But that’s a massive IF based on the chaos of our transfer dealings, no player retention, and pure panic devoid of any plan.

It’s not usually the Ola form for long term success.

The emporer probably is baked, and likely has been for a good while, but we can’t speak of it (yet).

He’s a devilishly handsome chap, looking splendid as ever, no facts allowed, it’s a just a vibe.

Good luck to them.

Different circumstances, different starting squad, different approach to the transfer window. Nothing to get our knickers in a twist over.

We arrived, we saw, and we returned to our average league status. We are been over all the contributing factors and all the things we might do differently in future but we have to put that behind us for the time being and focus on getting back out of this league.

Let’s get building momentum for the season ahead, it’s a long hard path to May without distractions.

Don't think sunderland's game tells us anything

but yes i think we over play KM

He got the league 1 promotion which was minimal required based on spend, so nothing amazing there imo

Championship- now that was special

prem - awful

recruitment, very mixed under KM, some good, some terrible
we have players who he doesn't play in the right positions despite his recent description of playing to the strenghts of the players rather than players to the roles of the team, J Clarke so far has been ruined, sammy s has become a bit of a pointless selection too. NOT their fault, but they aren't playing their best roles.

Subs, always reactive rather than proactive imo, many games we look under the cosh come 60 but we've still sat and waited until 70 odd minutes, and then it's no real amazing tactical subs, it's like for like.

Set pieces are terrible he may not coach them, but he's the manager so it's his responsibility

we've won something like 6 games in 44, any other manager in the world is gone with that record.

He does imo have till xmas to save his job and probably his short term ambitions to getting a prem job.

BUT

KM's an intelligent manager and when his philoshy rubs off on the players, the football is incredible to watch... we just havent seen it for a while

Please for the sake of our sanity, give it a bloody rest.

Maybe if we had West Ham at home first game rather than the League Champions we might have won. We started ok and West Ham were rubbish at the start last year. But don't let that get in the way of yet another swipe at the club you support.

I honestly think you've got issues.

I don’t think West Ham have won an opening premiership fixture in something like 15 years !
So I read somewhere leading up to the game ………no surprise really.

Whilst I think KM is over hyped by some, I don't know what is said in private between him and the board. Was he told he could only sign assets, rather than a couple of experienced hands?
I find his tactics a bit baffling. I would like to see us play 4-3-3 rather than the constant 4-2-3-1. Other than that, I think we have to wait and see as the season progresses.
Top 6 is a minimum though.
