You can't put Delap aside. And you shouldn't put Hirst aside either.
In any case, I didn't say anything about our past performance. We had sod all foreign recruiting department until fairly recently, building that up will take time but the fruits of it are starting to show.
And in the past few transfer windows we've had back-to-back promotions up to the Prem, so we've been doing something right. | |

It does make you wonder why we are having such a difficult job in signing players. Around 30,000 every home game and a bank full of money. But then we are known for not pandering to agents and paying top dog wages. So is that why ? If you are aiming high and paying moderately (well moderate in respect of other bigger teams, not compared to the man in the street) will you get these players. To a foreign player where would you rather be, somewhere in Spain or Italy or a run down town like Ipswich. | | | |

Because, as has been explained countless times on here, if you want the top players (who could potentially play in the Prem as well) you have to wait for them. The problem is they often think they're ready for the Prem, see Hackney as a case in point. Then there's the fact that players already in the Prem are harder to persuade to drop down... and many aren't even available until the Prem clubs have finalised their squads (again, something that happens towards the end of the window). | |

I get both points of view. We've left ourselves light in the striker department every single summer window. It is becoming infuriating that we seem able to get enough depth in. However, we want someone who can contribute should we go up. | |

I’m not nervous. Ivanovic isn’t a lesser player. We can’t wait forever to make our moves. I’ve just stated why, because we invariably end up with no one. There are good players outside the PL and anyway they will only be kids who will probably take 6 months to settle, if at all that we get from said PL. | | | |

Must admit I've not been into Town for a couple of years now. Grandson drove us into Ipswich today and we parked at Tacket Street. Walked from that end of the town centre to the opposite end, civic drive. I was shocked at the state of the town centre, what a shlt hole.
Not sure if the council is on strike but litter flying everywhere, empty shops, everything looked completely run down. Even had to be careful walking on the pedestrian area as every third brick was half sticking up.
