When Mick was still here I didn’t think that I would be able to make a game but in the end I could. Arrived at the ground at around 14:45ish and thought that I could just pay on the gate. But no - had to go to the shop and buy a ticket. In fairness, I only had a card on me so under Evans that technology was beyond the capabilities of the club to accept.

When I said younger days, it was much, much younger. The only balls I was interested in keeping active were leather ones with a bladder and a lace which didn't do your head a lot of good when you headed it.

I worked for a few years for a couple of chaps from Debenham (now that’s a beautiful village tiny place used to have four pubs) anyway I digress,I’d cut through Mickfield on then way back to the main drag.
Surely the local history club of Mickfield would have put one of those little circular blue plaques on her cottage wall to celebrate this wonderful woman ? | |
