This and Norwegian kid coming signal akpom playing up front and priority will be centre mid and defence? Ie no longer needing a striker

Is the Norwegian kid coming then? Or is this the Omari replacement role with Ogbene still around etc, that’s probably the big question in how our window will be rated.

Would ease the pressure if Norwegian player signs 2 for price of 1

I would say yes, but who knows. We’re signing and chasing wingers/AMs but striker rumours are thin on the ground. Akpom was primarily a striker, but is versatile and had a great season as a second number 10. He could certainly be the competition for Hirst, but obviously I’ve no idea how Kieran sees it.

I think he's seen as versatile option as a 9, 10 and possibly left sided, because that is what he is, and is one of his assets to us.

I don't see the need to box him off as a specific 9 or 10.

I've seen Akpom as a 9 from the get go.

He was never a left solution for me, but the fact he can play there just means he's more versatile if we need him there at any point.

Hirst, Akpom and Ali as our 9s is good. If the scandi lad comes in, all well and good. If he doesn't, never mind.

Isn't the Scandi lad a wide player.

We seem to be building quite the collection of wide players!!

RIP Sir Bobby

Well considering we had a striker in from Como who failed a medical and KM said Akpom is a versatile player who can play all across the attack I am not so sure that was plan A.

I assume a striker is still on the cards.

Akpom nothing like Hirst I imagine we still want a real number 9 as for Ali your having a giraffe honestly just not good enough not even for the 3rd striker position.

Isn't Egeli seen as someone who will eventually be a striker. Big physical presence etc... Similar to Delap, who played on the wing for Hull.

Perhaps we are buying him as a striker.

I think so but its gone pretty quiet on him since last Saturday with just the same story rehashed.

People need to forget these '9', '10', 'winger' roles. Its much more fluid than that with attackers.

When he signed a number of posters said he was a 10.

Now, I’m reading he can play as a 9.

What I’d really like is for KM to tell us where he’s to feature, so I can shut the fck up about us not signing a striker to rival/push/support Hirst!

That said, if he is seen as a 9, but plays as a 10 in a game, does that mean he’ll stay on and go to the 9 position if/when Hirst goes off?

We’ll be good again... one day

He has told us, Akpom can play in all four positions.
