Possession leading to nothing. KM, now is the time to prove that you are the best young manager in the country.

Poll: If KM goes now, will you applaud him when he returns with his new club?

Of course I was. I never said it wasn't an achievement?

"McKenna's had one outstanding season out of three. He did little more than expected in his first"

Those words suggest you don't think it was much of an achievenment.

I'll leave it there.

Every promotion is achievement. Promotion from League One wasn't anything more than that. Promotion from the Championship was over achievement.

Poll: Who would you play at right centre back on Saturday?

We had a succession of managers who couldn't get us out of League 1. McKenna did it in his first full season, largely with the previous manager's players. This was also McKenna's first full season as a manager.

I bet you were celebrating it as an achievement at the time.

Succession? 2?

You said "little more than expected". That, frankly, is an insult to a wonderful season.

I was forgetting Hurst was in the Champ, but I've deliberately forgotten a lot of his 'reign'.

But anyway, two still counts as a succession - "Noun. The coming of one person or thing after another in order, sequence, or in the course of events."

Lambert and Cook were successful, experienced managers, and they didn't remotely get close to getting us up. So yes, for McKenna to do it in his first full season as a manager, and with a record-breaking swagger, was a superb achievement. And everypne celebrated it as such at the time. I don't remember people saying it was "little more than expected" at the time. People are rewriting history to fit with how they're feeling now.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

For myself I just want my team to show some attacking intent. Passing it around in your own half is not going to win games. Possession stats don’t win games, Nottingham Forest did extremely well last season.
They used the ball ruthlessly when they had it.
We struggle against teams who sit back, we don’t frighten them because we don’t look fully committed in attack. We don’t cause panic in their defensive areas.

Flash we spent more in the Jan window that season than most did in the whole year.

It was a great season as a fan. But it was minimum requirement based on what we spent and even at that we finished 2nd

What amazes me is that some time ago when we weren't in the best of form under KM and I said then that a manager really only proves himself when things aren't going great and I got slagged off with loads of down votes. Now people on here are querying KM even to the extent that he should be replaced and hey presto, up votes.
The last two seasons have in many ways proven that you cannot change a large swathe of a team and remain consistent.
Many of these players are new to each other. Even players like Ogbene and Philogene due to injuries haven't played a handful of games for us.
The problem will arise that if we go too many games and don't get the necessary results that we end up too far adrift and whilst we have seen we can go on a run it doesn't always follow that if you have done it in the past it will happen again.

The team doesn’t look like a team at the moment. Just a group of players with no idea of what’s going on, and that is all on KM.

I am not sure its all on KM i have a feeling he very much wanted to keep certain players Morsy being one if them, but the decision and the negotiation for new players ultimately doesn’t sit with him. That said he has a job to do with the perfectly adequate squad he is left with and currently he isnt doing a good enough job and that is down to him..

Might be controversial but I thought we were ok, 99 out of 100 we don’t lose, and the majority we win. In complete control just lack cutting edge, I don’t think Taylor works - not creative enough, Clarke not looking himself at all, and Szmodics I’m not sure where he fits in.

But we looked so much better than Birmingham away.

I agree. I thought we played well but just a bit of creativity in the middle, touch in the box and finishing was missing

It was a superb achievement. I'm just saying it wasn't an OVER achievement. If you think it was, which other team should have won promotion that season instead of us?

That L1 season, the basket case of a club Sheffield Wednesday finished just 2 points behind us. That's how poor that division was. Out promotion with the help of gamechanger money was an expected achievement. Nothing more.

The next year was a massive over achievement though and KMc deserves credit for that

Veni Vidi Participatur. Now we can get back to competing.

You keep moving the goalposts every time you post! No-one said it was an OVER achievement. You dismissed it as "little more than expected", which is what I took umbrage to. Stop building straw men!

Agree - it is the time for KMc to start earning his corn.

However, he has also earned the right to expect our patience given the churn in personnel.

Poll: What type of manager will we get?
