With family so will keep it short.

I've seen worse town performances. We didn't deserve to lose it. Can't say we deserved to win it either.

We're going through my infamous in season pre season at the moment. After international break that's when we will see this side flourish.

Will add tho. I can't get on board with clarke

Largely agree.

Although I think Clarke will come good.

I agree with all that Frimmers.

Slight worry is how toothless we look despite dominating. A lot of teams will frustrate us and defend really well like that (their only shot on target was the pen), and at the moment we look a long way short of finding answers to it.

Unfortunately we don't have a Morsy taking the game by the scruff of the neck. And at times I thought we overplayed, or played the wrong ball, in the final third.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

0-0 the right result. Hirst struggled. (n/t) on 17:06 - Aug 23 with 790 viewsunstableblue

Poll: How do you rate the new home kit out of 5?

I think we should be more concerned than that to be honest, our chance creation rate in 3 games is worryingly low and Hirst looks very isolated against any physicality. Seem to be a side that can be done a number on. My brightest spot of the season is Matisuwa, 2 points out of 9, pressure is on. Clarke’s weak and his body language and effort when he makes the ball looks bad. I think Burnley lost two games last year.

The good news is the league looks more open than normal, crap start though.

Matusiwa was looking better and better until he came off

Agree on Clarke. And so far Taylor and Szmodics haven't been anywhere near good enough. All 3 of them seem to have poor decision making so far. A lot of sloppy or silly passes.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Let’s be fair, all 3 league games this season we haven’t done enough to win any of those matches. It worries me how there is this huge focus on possession when in the main we don’t do anything with purpose apart from retaining the ball. Yet another display where we looked toothless. It’s not boding well, but if you don’t get shots on target, you don’t win games, it’s as simple as that!

Good summary

I thought there were some encouraging signs of the team's cohesion starting to take shape, some signs of 1 touch passing.

Jack Taylor had an excellent game

Cajuste came on and looked a cut above

Leif was poor, gave the ball away a lot and seems to be physically not where he was

Winters are a huge concern. Philogene predictable and ineffective. McAteer intelligent but technically lacking. Jack Clarke needs to get a one way ticket on the first train out of Ipswich, he gets worse game by game.

I’m sorry but Jack Taylor did not have an excellent game, he was playing a physical side that sat back and had no real impact. He still overhits plenty of forward balls as well.

We do seem to really struggle with smashing through a parked bus, they allowed us so much of the ball and we did nothing with it. I miss the free flowing "we're gonna outscore you" no f**ks given mentality we used to go into games with.

I honestly forgot he was even there most of the time...

I thought Azor was fantastic, genuinely, despite the game as a whole. No idea why he went off instead of Taylor.

Clarke is just not anywhere near clicking.

I still think we dominated, and it will click together as a whole, hopefully against Derby.

We didn't deserve to win, or to lose for that matter.

Preston certainly didn't deserve to win, just one dodgy (there you go Benters) penalty decision in their favour, nothing else all game. If I were a PNE fan I'd be coming away from that game wondering how we didn't lose.

2 points from 9 though. Not good at all.

Agreed. I said elsewhere that at times his short passes are also a bit lazy, leaving the team mate to sort it out.

Cajuste looked very classy when he made his cameo.
