Azor Matusiwa one positive today 17:22 - Aug 23 with 1208 viewskizaitfc

Thought he was tenacious and composed on the ball, feels like he is carrying Taylor and having to cover the whole midfield. The quicker we can get Cajuste fit the better.

Poll: Mick in or out? (not a dig at Mick just want to see the overall opinion on here)

Please tell me you’re joking???

This guy is the next Godfrey. I’m 43 and fat. I’d smash him in a race. Too small, too slow.

Was the best player on the pitch spoke to a few Preston fans who said he and O'Shea were our only good players.

Have to agree based on that

Agree shielded really well, turned the ball over loads and played simple passes. Looked good, just need a more creative partner than Taylor to open up teams.

The only Muff in Town.

Whoa, either you’re watching a different game, or you’re blind.

Thought Matusiwa was man of the match and Taylor did ok too today. Centre-midfield wasn't our vulnerability today, partly because Preston went to a low block once they'd scored. The forward players were all poor with no exceptions today though.

Poll: Who do you blame for our failure to progress?

thought he was okay. He is not the destroyer I thought he was going to be, but he can play football okay. Needs to up his tempo at times. The whole team does. Passing is laborious and slow, easy for teams to get positioning correct.

I thought Macateer added some urgency when he came on also, plus aside from the penalty we were defensively sound.

I can’t see the same team starting Saturday, there needs to be some changes.

He really caught me eye too. Improving every game. Really tenacious and has that Morsy habit of coming away with the ball.

One excellent defence splitting through ball.

He is going to be very very good

He was excellent today, always available, looking for the pass, breaking up play etc. Get Cajuste fit and that's a formidable central midfield.

Agree with you and the OP but the word that sprang to mind for me was combative rather than tenacious, and a very necessary trait that is given the pre-planned approach of the rest of the team seems to be causing us trouble. All that being said I think he is going to have a couple of mistakes in him every game until he gets fully up to speed with Championship football (which makes me wonder whether he can develop into a Premier League player...but let's not get ahead of ourselves.)

I thought he looked pretty decent. Didn’t look phased defensively, kept us ticking over and played some nice progressive passes.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

Azor was my MOTM.
I want 2 Azors at CM like Morsy and Luongo. Stocky ballwinners who can pass as well as tackle. I want us to rule the midfield Cajuste did OK when he came on, though, he's a different type.

Lewis Cook.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Agreed, Azor had a good game today and worked very hard. Preston got a’dodgy penalty’ then sat back, time wasted, played 9 behind the ball, and, as the guy who sat behind me rightly said, were ‘boring’. We need to learn how to break defensive sides down with 72% of possession. We will click hopefully next week against Derby.
