Geniune question.
Has this place ever been this toxic before?
Ive been here for 20 odd years and even in the days of Keane/Jewell/Lambert I cant remember this level of criticism against the club. Even more weirdly the over the top nature of it.
There wont be a single fan happy with how things are going at the moment, that's a given. But most sane people will realise that
A) There's been 3 games (excluding cup,)
B) There's been fine margins each time
C) The transfer window isnt closed yet.
But some are going on as if we've been thrashed 4 nil each game and weve got a squad of rubbish.
Was it the success that's made people lose their minds or is it just a reflection of the world today that makes people enjoy being edgy and different on the Internet and winding up everyone who dares to question them? |  | | |  |

As a person who's had a few breaks given to him on the forum. Rightfully.
I feel you need to be careful as you're verging on abusive towards fellow posters which isn't right when all people are doing is discussing football. Is he winding you up. Probably but oversee it. No resort to name calling and abusing posters. It won't end well. |

Looks like most peoples' jaws dropped so far on reading it that their voting fingers were paralysed!
The sad thing is that he (edit for clarity: Darkhorse28) wrote an equally long, but at least comparatively sensible & actually quite interesting, thought-provoking post yesterday (or day before) that's now swamped by this (ie his post of 08.07 today on p.4).. [Post edited 26 Aug 11:42]

It’s 4 wins in 42 games.
It’s the worst full season in our history.
It’s £170 million spent to be worse than the £10 million side we built.
It’s the constant ‘revisionism’ from a minority, because their ego can’t process that their emotional investment in a fantasy wasn’t founded, they might have been wrong.
That’s toxic.
Pretending we were a league one club, a policy little club in the big league.
We spent £150 million, and not a single regular apart from Leif kicked a ball for us in league one.

The made up fantasy, is TOXIC
To his is the clubs future, the consequences are real, and we are up for sale being one of them…, the toxic brigade can’t even accept a statement from the owners saying we will sell £100 million worth of players and are for sale.
That’s how deluded, detached and apologist they are.
All born of EGO…, it’s not accepting their mistakes that’s the issue.
Everyone in football knows we are for sale, everyone knows players in the Championship team of the year, Greaves, Clarke, Philogene have been here for over a year, and have regressed as players.
The results don’t matter, win or lose.
We have no vision, no strategy, no planning and no contingency, it’s chaos, there’s a football vacuum at the club above McKenna who’s clearly a talented coach, but wants to obsess about that, probably because even he sees he’s way short in some management metrics, like talent ID, motivation, PR and handling difficult situations.
Stopping players leaving to play in Europe, when you yourself spoke to every club in the land, and agreed terms with Brighton, isn’t a good look…, it’s hypocrisy, and destroys trust and respect in the group.
We aren’t divided.
The egos are slowly drifting away…, and they DESTRYED BULLIED and trolled anyone that brought any of these points up to discuss in an adult way, for the last 12 months.
The truth is what it is.
It doesn’t change because you built up an emotive fantasy about McKenna and Ashton. And Thor ‘but we are just a third rate third division club’ nonsense.
£170 million now and climbing.
Forest built a bear champions league team with that, some clubs have made profits in the last four years and are light years ahead of us on the pitch.
Whatever this season brings…, we massively blew a generational opportunity which took TWENTY TWO years to build.
And a champions league contract, and !150 million investment is where it went wrong, awful decisions, and trust in just TWO people is like the Evans era on steroids.
We’re for sale now…, so the financial consequences will impact our club for many years to come.

This opportunity didn't take 22 years to build. It took about three. Maybe four or so if you count Demolition Man in there for the foundations.
Before that, it was a decaying old shell of a property with rising damp and a collapsing roof.
Then a new architect came in, built a luxury home out of nothing and we're talking about sacking him because he got the job done three years ahead of schedule but some of the fixtures might need replacing. |  | | |

Fair enough, but McKenna has expensively recruited most of the current Town squad & I an hoping to see in the next few weeks that he can mould these players into an effective team as the evidence of the first 3 games suggests the exact opposite. |  |

What if we go up again and try it a completely different way in the market? For all the expensive mistakes we still are at 77M in player sales this summer.
