It’s fine as long as they’re drinking Stella, but not San Miguel which is altogether a higher class of mass produced crap

About 10 Union flags have appeared overnight on one of the main drags into Cheltenham halfway up the lampposts.
Now I've no problem with patriotism, I think we should display more flags, if only to wrestle them back from the right. But, we all know this is nothing to do with patriotism.
They were all those cheap £2.50 flags you get from Sports Direct, which with the forecast this week will have them in tatters with running colours by the weekend, if that isn't patriotic enough for you, about 6 of the 10 were being flown upside down.

lol. We had a n English one here in Wales. Maybe we could arrange a swap, as I think the Welsh would far rather be associated with Denmark. They’re utter feckwits

From Wikipedia. The terms Union Jack and Union Flag are both used historically for describing the national flag of the United Kingdom. It is sometimes asserted that the term Union Jack properly refers only to naval usage, but this assertion was dismissed by the Flag Institute in 2013 after historical investigations. According to the Flag Institute, a membership-run vexillological charity, "the national flag of the United Kingdom, the Crown Dependencies and Overseas Territories is the Union Flag, which may also be called the Union Jack." The institute has also stated: "It is often stated that the Union Flag should only be described as the Union Jack when flown in the bows of a warship, but this is a relatively recent idea. From early in its life the Admiralty itself frequently referred to the flag as the Union Jack, whatever its use, and in 1902 an Admiralty circular announced that Their Lordships had decided that either name could be used officially. In 1908, a government minister stated, in response to a parliamentary question, that "the Union Jack should be regarded as the National flag"." [Post edited 28 Aug 20:19]
