Farage is a traitor 18:42 - Sep 3 with 4173 viewsMullet

This thread on him being completely ripped apart in America is a fascinating listen/read.

What’s equally important is Keir growing some balls and nailing him here

I think that's wishful thinking. Farage and his backers behind the scenes now have their foot firmly in the establishment door. He already sets the mood music for the national debate so I doubt he's going anywhere. I've said it loads but his end goal is leader of the Conservative Party. They're in a right state at the moment and are in danger of becoming an irrelevance. Having the most recognised and loudest politician in the country as their leader would put them right back on top.

Definitely wishful thinking. But might still hopefully might happen.

I agree with your assessment to some extent, but that's going to be a pretty quick flash in the pan, surely? If he was to get in, do the bidding of some billionaires, give them tax breaks and whatever. But we are not America, we have no global power we cannot throw out weight around, we will be laughed at and left to rot and no matter how much banter he can come up with whilst swigging a pint, the tide will turn pretty quickly when it's going to sh1te and he's got no answers.

Too late to stop massive damage, but it'd be over pretty quick and he'd be a pariah and an irrelevance just as quickly.

He'd surely prefer side influence and sniping. But he has a shelf life I guess, so those backers will want something tangible, are they getting enough by using Farage to shift the centre and government policy without the need to be in power. Dunno. All disgustingly bad for the UK and it's people, but obviously that's not their concern.

See major companies like Heathrow are sponsoring the Reform conference whilst Farage praises Trumps work in saving American democracy and freedom of speech and promotes ICE style rounding up of immigrants. He is not even bothering to camouflage the blatant lies now as he thinks he will get away with it all.
Labour are just so behind in their actions and messaging to deal with this traitor.
Horrible timess lay ahead

Labour have always had to struggle with the mass media against them funded by it's billionaire backers......but we are now in a position where those mass media companies are just not the powers they were; where anyone can set the agenda on social media etc.....why can't Labour sort their media out to get cut through in that.

They are worrying about leader interviews and newspapers - they should be setting the agenda everywhere else - be visible, be present, be everywhere - it's the only way these days

Yes. Those hounding asylum seekers would be infinitely better off diverting their energy somewhere else.

They may not sell the same number of physical papers but they seem to me to have as much (if not more) influence because of their online offerings in its various guises. The Express, for example, realises that negative stories about immigrants attract many people, so journalists are required to pump this sort of thing out as clickbait.

This is amplified by others on social media but the prevailing agenda is still generally that of the right wing media.
