Anyone take him as next manager if results don't improve next month or two?

Poll: How long will we be in League One/League Two from next season?

Why is it that so many football fans don't understand modern club management structures. Nuno has fallen out with his owner. With that fallout possibly the whole structure at Forest gets rebuilt. Or may be not. Same at most clubs. The first team coach is the head of the playing side. He chooses teams and sets coaching styles. But he's just one of many. The club builds a structure and then recruits to that agreed structure. Clearly after last season our re set had been more international recruiting. A clear out of some that weren't good enough. And a need to replace some who were persuaded away despite our best efforts. So whether we admire another coach or not it's really more a case of replacing an existing coach with one who brings the same ethos. Buys into the process. Etc. Given that we've yet to actually play many of our new recruits how long do you or anyone think is a fair process? Four games, five, ten?
McKenna is the head coach. A manager if you insist. We're very lucky to have such a talented man. So let's just enjoy the rebuild and hope it leads us back to playing in a league that quite frankly was dull and boring.

So are Forest about to rebuild 'the whole structure'? Because on the face of it, as managers Nuno and Ange don't seem to have much in common. (They both seem like decent human beings, but most managers do.)

Tho I would suggest that McKenna is more of an old-style Manager than most in modern football, having greater and more wide-ranging influence over the club than the average "Head Coach" working under a Director of Football or similar. He is more deeply embedded in dertermining the direction and philosophy of the playing side*.

Consequently, the distruption should he depart is greater. It would take a fair bit to see him sacked. Not to mention the difficulty of finding someone who would be able to do the same job in full.

For me, Espirito Santo is one of those who perhaps could. But we don't have a vacancy - and I doubt we will have for at least the whole season** - plus he will have offers from higher up the current food chain than Ipswich.

* Not to mention expensive and vital infrastructure in the the rebuild of the training ground.

** Ashton and McKenna evidently work well together and have a strong bond. You only have to watch the interviews with the two of them together. Top level football is a ruthless business, but it's going to take some force to break that partnership.

**, if McKenna under performs and this on going win ratio is extremely low premiership or not Ashton isn't going to risk his neck to the owners for McKenna not a chance,

No chance would he come here!

In any event, a nice run of four winnable fixtures now … hopefully KM will turn it round with at least ten points.

We just need some teeth up front, and the goals will start coming. I think our front line will look different after the international break.

If you're suggesting Luis Suárez, he will certainly give us some bite!

Hopefully a win against Sheff Utd will kick start our season...but if results continue to be underwhelming then we have to consider Nuno. But KM could still be invaluable as Director of Football. Hopefully the losing mentality of a chastening season in PL wlll be forgotten after Fridays result!
