Egeli up front Friday? 12:54 - Sep 10 with 4222 viewshunty21

Played there for U21 and succeeded up front would he be better suited there or right wing for us?

You’re right with your Hutchinson comparison, but what I would say is he had 2 very brief Prem appearances, whereas Sindre has over 60 games in men’s football - albeit the standard - and is already a full international.

Given the teams we beat off - reportedly PSV, Porto and Club Brugge - I highly doubt they’d have viewed him as a development player and he’d have gone straight in there - all leagues I would argue are on par, if not better then the Championship.

As I say, this is a massive coup for us and whilst I think there’ll be a natural settling in period, we’ll want him as a regular before to long.

Very good points, hadn't realised he had such experience behind him as such a young age, incredibly promising :)

a niche perspective

I don't disagree... BUT on the other hand can a Championship club really afford to spend what we have on a player like him and not get him in the team pretty quickly? I'd expect him to be sub for next couple of weeks but be starting by the end of the next stint

It will take him time to adjust to the Championship from the level he has been playing. We've got a real asset here, let's nurture him rather than expect miracles straight up

Perhaps instructive that he's with the Norway U21 setup. Norway are strong these days but there was still room for West Brom striker Aune Heggebø this international break, who came off the bench in the Moldova mullering, as well as attacking midfielder Thelo Aasgaard, who joined Rangers from Luton in the summer.

I really hope Kieran starts with a line up that's got a reasonable representation of our new recruits, to lift the crowd if nothing else.

While I get the "he's young, he's not experienced here" stuff, and while I know it's easy to look good against lowly opposition(tell that to those who watched England v Andorra) his highlights are very, very good. Haven't seen enough of Azon or Akpom, who seem to be different players, but I feel that Egeli's combination of skills look like something we don't have in one individual. I'd like to see him given a meaningful 30 minutes pretty soon.

To pick up your comment about his unique combination of skills, that reminded me of Liam Neeson’s character in Taken! So, if he makes it onto the pitch on Friday it would be awesome if he warns the opposition defenders something along these lines: 😂

"I don’t know who you are, and I don’t care what club you play for. If you let me run, that’ll be the end of it. I won’t track back, I won’t defend, and you won’t see me again. But if you try to stop me… I will nutmeg you, I will outpace you, and I will score goals that will haunt your highlight reels for the rest of your career. Because I have a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long youth career. Skills that make me a nightmare for defenders like you."
