I did wonder whether we might play the 4 attackers that didn’t go away on international duty tomorrow night.

Clarke, Akpom, Philogene and Azor?

Azon and Azor is going to get confusing isn't it.

Can still play Hirst I mean he was only on the pitch for Scotland for what 10 minutes.

KMc will no doubt be frustrated that yet again after an international break, we have been selected for the Friday night game.

Same again next month. Has happened to us a few times now.

They seem to do it to those that ‘moan’ about it like when Klopp used to get the 12:30 Saturday games after an European week

It’s even worse next month, it’s Middlesbrough away.

One of the longest trips we have and also a decent side who have started the season well.

I'm going for Ivan and 'Matu', which leaves a namespace in case we sign Azealia Banks.

edit: 'Matu' sounds like the sort of mononym (known by a single name, like Kylie) that a potential future great should have, and I'd certainly assign that status to Matusiwa, much as I would give it to Kylie.

Kieran: International break beneficial for new players. But mixed as players away, important players away. Worked in units and small groups but build-up to game short.

Late goal against Derby. We weren't doing cartwheels. Could be important point at end of season. Late goal, second we've had, so can be something which can give belief in those circumstances which is important going forward.

Would have expected SUFC to have had more points. Bristol City freak result. Other games tight, turnover as well, manager and players. Not a lot between teams this season. Will be disappointed not to have a point, sure they won't be in that position the longer season continues.

Every team, look at recent games and manager's previous clubs. Chance debutants on pitch, possibly from both teams. Know all players well, know coach pretty well.

Chieo, not a big call in terms of SUFC being rival as everyone potentially could be. CO got thrust into the team early and we and he felt period of playing games will build his physical level and confidence. Harder to do here with Kasey, Sindre and Wes not far away. Wonderful person, hopefully in not long recover his physical strength can return to play bg role here.

Conor, someone who everyone holds in the highest regards as person and a player. Had honest conversations with him through pre-season, didn't start many games last year, then had a significant injury towards end of season. Knowing competition for minutes, but some of those conversations were that important to start week in, week out at his stage of career, against that his feeling for the club. Opportunity to go to Pompey came in late. Big loss to the group, modern legend and earned us looking at that for him. Loal team whre he has history and chance to come back in Jan or next summer. We've depth, so could allow that and will keep an eye and in contact.

Sindre, you need to go into it knowing patience needed. Intensity and physicality is a big step up. Will be adjustment but don't put a cap on it. We didn't with Delap last year. If they progress, not going to hold them back. Big fee but that has no bearing on my thought processes, that's the market as where we are as a club. Took Omari on loan, there was no fee. Shouldn't be a different expectation because of that. Exceptional young talent, enjoyed having him in the building in the last 24 hours. Looking forward to working with him and fans will be looking forward to seeing him.

Has very high potential, technical qualities, footballing intelligence, physical qualities already. But it's how you develop into a team. Lots of ingredients. Having him here for the next few seasons is a good position to be in. Good that his representatives and family felt this was the place for him to develop.

Outgoing players, spoke to Samy last night, miss them as people, miss their qualities on the pitch. Each situation was different, they all have their own wishes and desires. Club has its and hope they can tie up. I don't think it's necessary for the club to grow but I don't think it's to the detriment. New players have arrived and have an opportunity to grow and become big players for the club. Some big losses but we've arrived with a good squad.

Balance of squad isn't far away. Three keeper, nine defenders, five players in midfield who can really help us and nine forwards for four positions. We're covered, we've got good qualities and not too deep. Look at November and December, games come thick and fast and need that depth. Have started next step with good balance to the squad.

Rate challenge of window, didn't go quite to plan? That's fair. Last summer was really difficult as well, couple of challenging summers since double promotions. This summer difficult with players out, emotional in some cases. More turnover than wanted, has been a long summer but it is what it is, we are where we are. Believe we've got a strong squad who want to be here, players who will grow into roles here. How season progresses will be reflection on how much of a success it was.

Players are aware that they've got to make the fans fall in love with them. Was the same for the players who came in 2021. Over time, didn't happen straight away, that team grew and built bonds with each other and supporters.

Patience, won't be at our best on Friday but be in no doubt we couldn't work any harder.
