The op was talking about the number of posts on the Kirk murder compared with the number of posts about the assassination of Melissa Hortman. Not the coverage on our airwaves or media bias.
I’d say the majority of posts yesterday were from left leaning posters. The thread was started by Grizzly who gives more coverage on here to MAGA than anyone who supports Trump.
Re Melissa Hortman. I was in the States a week after her murder and it was still being reported every hour on all the news channels. I’m sure it would have got wide coverage in the UK media.

I've just read about her murder, as I'd never heard of her. Tragic, yes, but it appears that it was a random killing, with no political motive, carried out by someone with mental health problems, in the USA. Why do you think we should be discussing it on this forum?

the same goes for the murder of Melissa Hortmann and husband. It got plenty of coverage back in June, more than the 99% of other murders in the US. All depends how newsworthy they are. The murder of the Ukrainian should have received plenty of news coverage, no matter who murdered her. It is a strong human interest story. Same goes for the murders because of a political nature. Kirk is going to get the most exposure because of the Kennedy like assassination is of massive interest, the assailant is still on the run, there is plenty of video feeding the story, hundreds viewed it that feeds into social media and wider, he ws an up and coming, well known, contraversial with high following, probably destined for high office, youi cansee the potential trajectory. Compare him to an unknown Ukrainian emigree and a fairly obscure, though diligent and successful Minnesota legislator. whose murderer was captured next day and the story naturally died with that.
