Ref tonight 22:48 - Sep 12 with 2822 viewsShobby

Thought the ref had a good game tonight. He let the game flow, was up with play and didn’t take any nonsense.

Overall he was decent, but it was puzzling that he didn't book Brooks for a couple of cynical fouls.

Yes. He didn't fall (pun intended) for the players jumping on the floor from the 1st minute.

Akpom might want to calibrate the ref a bit more.....!

Thought the ref let it flow as much as he could.. Decent effort from him tonight.

Yep was about to say that… much better than most at this level, but surprised he didn’t book Brooks for a quick-fire couple of poor challenges in the first half. The first one on Leif was as cynical as they come.

Not sure if you were at the game or able to see replays on Sky. There was nothing at all in the first challenge, and he did have a word after the second. Personally thought he had an excellent game.

We’re quick to slate refs so praise needed for that performance. That said both sets of players behaved professionally too.

I was pleasantly surprised that SheffU came to play a game of football.... made for a much more enjoyable spectacle as opposed to the niggly fouls, Oscar wining theatricals and general sh1thousing from some of the teams we play. Well done to ref for allowing this to happen

Onwards and upwards....

Agreed, Sheffield United came to play football and competed. Having been to Preston and the Derby fiasco both sides pulled every trick in the book to delay, frustrate and kill the game off. Well done Sheffield United for their attitude and their fans too.

I honestly thought he was absolutely abysmal. No biased either way just absolutely dreadful. First half in the main it was like a random generator if he would give a foul or not.

Second half he was better but then it wasn't a hard game to ref in the 2nd half.

One of the worst refs I've seen at champ level.

He did try to let the game flow but there were a lot of fouls he wasn't given and actually it's his job to ref it properly.

No-one ever has a problem with the ref when we win, funnily enough. Only seem to get the bad ones when we lose.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

I thought first half that his decisions as to what was and what wasn’t a foul were totally inconsistent for both teams.

He gave the opposition the majority of the 50/50s first half, but did improve a bit second half. On the whole I think it was a fairly easy game to ref as the Blunts didn't cheat that much.

Agree. It was bizarre and was having that message exchange with a Blades fan.

Second half after the 2nd half was. Avery easy game to ref really.

Their thug in midfield could have done someone some damage as no protection first half from ref.

Cool.

Poll: If KM goes now, will you applaud him when he returns with his new club?

Really?

I thought he was really consistent throughout, let lots go (some of which maybe were fouls) but both teams knew where they were at with him and the game was all the better for it.

Didn’t fall for some theatrics from either side (Akpom for us and Burrows for them). He wasn’t perfect but he helped make it an entertaining game.
