Belfast recommendations 08:13 - Sep 16 with 1367 views | GlasgowBlue | The current Mrs Glassers has just surprised me with a day trip to Belfast tomorrow for our wedding anniversary. Flying out at 7am tomorrow morning, fly back the same day at 8pm. Hiring a car so driving to the Giant’s Causeway then heading to the Titanic museum. Any other recommendations we can squeeze in whilst we’re there? Somewhere nice for lunch?

Barry Cryer and Willy Rushton stayed there during a tour. The receptionist asked ' how did you hear about us?" and Rushton replied " News at ten". Would you have time for a murals tour?

Belfast recommendations on 09:06 - Sep 16 with 1182 views | bluejacko | Are you coming into international or city airport? If international you can go straight to the causeway and the rope bridge and then drive down the coastal route ( a must do) to Belfast! City I would do Titanic first and then drive up. Cafes are not exactly prevalent but play it by ear,Cushendall is halfway house both ways so will probably be your best bet,it will be a long day but enjoy👍😀 PS don’t forget the Ulster fry😉 [Post edited 16 Sep 9:35]

The Titanic exhibition is amazing. Opened my eyes to the former importance of Belfast and why the UK hung on to it a century ago. Also found our way to George Best's grave - my wife supports ManU - the array of different flags in the cemetery has stuck in my memory. [Post edited 16 Sep 9:45]

I've got a mate who 3-4 times a year with his uni mates goes for a High Rollers lunch, last Thursday it was in Stockholm, they just go there, have a boozy lunch at a nice restaurant then come home about 6pm. Don't think I could be bothered with it, or afford to do it very often!

Yeah a mates trip would seem a little excessive, considering it’s probably just beers in a different place. But if there was (for example) a match on in Holland, and the kids were a good age, I could see the pull to do it then.
