Can KM turn this around? 17:21 - Sep 20 with 12517 viewsBouncebackIpswich

Shocking performance YET AGAIN today. A team lacking fluidity and attacking patterns, unable to string passes together and control games, toothless but also defensively fragile and this is despite having players on the pitch like Cajuste and Davis who are clearly far too good for the league.

A special shout out to Kasey Mcateer who would be overpriced at 120K, 12 mill in what world... He is woeful.

Having serious doubts about McKenna now, starting to look like a busted flush. Can he actually turn this around like we all assumed he would given a few games?

OK, so you're a Leicester fan (which is pretty clear from your constant criticism of Town), so you have that view of him. I've been following his career for a long time, and yes - Leicester weren't good for him.

I'd suggest you go back to the Leicester (cheaters) forum, and come back here in a year to see what a season at a proper club does for him.

I'd like to see Kasey do well and improve, he is a nice lad and has the right attitude, but he just doesn't have the talent. How do you teach talent? Look at what he did every time he got his full back 1 on 1 yesterday, ran straight into him or hit a ball against him. I'm sure McK can improve him yes but you can't give gifts that aren't there like the ability to beat a man or close control.

Sounds like you've taken it personally doesn't it though šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Oh so I’m not on ignore. Yes, of course I have taken it personally. So would you if you were a sad loser with nothing else going on in your empty life like me.

Hooray! I can enjoy the rest of the day now.

I'm confused as to how you've seen so much of McAteer when you can't get to Leicester games anymore and say you've been to see Town a lot more. If you are more of a Town supporter now over the last few years, how have you seen so much of McAteer when he only really broke through at Leicester in 2023/24 at a time when you weren't going to Leicester games and were becoming more of a Town fan? It doesn't all add up, mate.

No you're not and quite frankly I'm not sad enough to put anyone on ignore unless they were writing personal abuse or unacceptable views so sorry for saying that but I've been feeling pretty attacked over expressing what I thought were reasonable views - clearly not given the deluge of down votes but dont think it justifies being called a troll or Norwich fan, at least I try and explain my reasoning

Anyway, enjoy your sunny Sunday. I'm gonna log off here now and stop arguing with people.

Again not sure why bothering to reply properly but I'll give it a go to explain. I've always had a soft spot for Town since young not sure why and when it became impossible to get to Leicester games with all the Johnny come latelys (I don't have a season ticket as live too far away in Milton Keynes) I started going to Town games first one was Bristol Rovers in 2018 I want to say? Can't remember but we lost 3-1, bloody miserable. Since then I've been to about 20 Town games at Portman Road when it's possible to get tickets, love the friendly town, pubs, and fanbase and since I can rarely get to Leicester games other than the odd away I consider myself just as much as Ipswich fan than Leicester in fact I'd say Ipswich are #1 definitely feel I'd rather we go up than LCFC.

So hope that's ok, my explanation and fandom is acceoted and approved by you and the supporter police šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Some fan. It's an hour's drive ffs.

Anyway, Leicester is nearer to you than Ipswich and before you remind me of the difficulty getting tickets at Leicester due to your "success", I refer you to your first point about not having a season ticket.

Ok Miss Marple, you win, I'm making the whole story up because I have nothing better to do with my life, you've rumbled me. See you later, mate.

He's genuinely league 2 level, a runner/trier and somehow McKenna and Ashton have thought it's worth forking out 12 MILLION pounds for him... Some of the decisions regarding recruitment have been scary

grotesquely incompetent recruitment.

Sigh.

They were not terrible signings. We got relegated and they came into a very tough situation and unsurprisingly didn't always fire. Can we just please get over the relegation? It was always a huge ask to stay up and we didn't disgrace ourselves.

Players, managers, staff are human beings.

Likewise teams are things that take time to build and shape and refine.

It's not a computer game. No team remains successful all the time. We're in a state of flux and had a challenging summer. There's no doubt that we will be top 6. I believe in KM and MA and the project.

It may be that we need another 21/22 season for KM to build and settle. If we don't get autos I would not be calling immediately for KM's head.

Everyone needs to calm down.

Quite happy for this to take 2 seasons as long as when we get there we are better for the premier league.

Patience not a virtue for many though.

I would be getting Nunez in that team sooner rather than later. Teams won't play us head on. If they do they will end up like Sheff Utd. Nunez passing will help unlock that and just control games better.

As for Mcateer. My goodness.
[Post edited 20 Sep 17:27]

I tend to agree.

I am emphatically not a conspiracy theorist. If I were, then I would assume that McAteer's signing was just money laundering. But as I am not, I cannot think of any explanation, at that price.

And Nunez is quality. He should start, or come on at 60 minutes (and no later) if we are not winning. Which is virtually every game.
