Result will be awarded to Blackburn due to 10 men very little time left and old precedent of I think 75 mins played?

We'd never win the replay with that ref anyway as for some reason that ref hates us.

What happened when we played Reading on the frozen pitch???

Pretty sure it was replayed and I got a ticket for £5?

That's Middlesbrough wasn't it or did we have another one?

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

We've only ever had three games abandoned at Portman Road since turning professional. That game was in 2012 and was the first at at Portman Road since 1972.

Then, a fuse blew at an electrical sub-station causing a floodlight failure in the 61st minute of a league game against Coventry with the Blues a goal down. They eventually won the restaged match 2-0.

The only other senior match abandoned at Portman Road since the club turned professional was in November 1948 when an FA Cup first round tie against Aldershot was brought to an early halt in the 63rd minute due to fog with Town a goal ahead. The Shots won the rerun 3-0.

Will do my best, thanks for your concern.

Just for a moment put boot on the other foot though, if we were 1 up and they had ten men we'd all be screaming for result to be given?

Probably so. That doesn't make it any more justified, however.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Note that there was a replay when a fuse blew. The league didn't blame us for not being able to keep our lights on properly and penalise us somehow. Those carping about Blackburn's pitch allegedly not being up to scratch are likely to find that the league is unlikely to penalise Blackburn for the fact that there was a waterlogged pitch.

They may well order a replay, they may not. But if they do, it's not going to be because they're blaming Blackburn.

Yes, Sonko came from Reading and he broke a rib on the frozen pitch against Middlesbrough.

Those "carping on" probably drove four hours plus each way and could see with their own eyes that it wasn't cataclysmic rainfall.

As Gary Clail and the On U Soundsystem might put it:

"There's Something Wrong With Blackburn's Drainage!"

Someone told me a story about that game, the restaging against Coventry. As the game was about to start, Joe Mercer, who was Coventry's manager at the time, was in the directors' box and ahead of kick-off took a candle out of his pocket, placed it in front of John Cobbold and said, "Just in case we need it".

Different sport, but Bath Rugby had huge problems with their pitch drainage a few years ago. Their ground backs onto the river Avon. In wet periods the pitch was like a bog with standing water everywhere. They eventually dug up the pitch & got it sorted, it’s now an excellent playing surface without the previous issues even during torrential rain, which is not uncommon there. I think Blackburn have some questions to answer, sounds like total lack of investment.

i wonder what the average champ injury time has been over the last 2 seasons?

add that to 11 mins and surely you are at at least 15/16 mins of time left.

in which case plenty of time for a come back.

plus if the attendance from the home team was so low give us 5k more tickets and we will line the chicken peoples pockets.

i would say if we miss out on promotion by 3 points or a point come end of the season it will be a big legal challenge likewise blackburn escape the drop by 3 points the team below will also legally challenge.

Probably not a surprise given all the issues they have had with their owners
