Ashton Gate on Tuesday on 13:23 - Sep 25 with 1848 views | Chris_ITFC | When you told us to be careful what we wish for with Mark Ashton, we all misunderstood. We wished for the Premier League - and he made it come true! Now we have unrealistic expectations of our other dreams coming true… We should’ve listened.

Ashton Gate on Tuesday on 14:05 - Sep 25 with 1551 views | Marshalls_Mullet | You will find that Mark Ashton is a bit of a lightning rod for discussion. I think 99% of us think he's done a great job in getting us to the Prem. I am in the camp where I think he's done a great job, but I cant stand listening to his David Brent style interviews. Some will criticise him for poor recruitment last season, and some defend him to the hilt and not allow any negative comments.

Ashton Gate on Tuesday on 14:12 - Sep 25 with 1474 views | Garv | First meeting between the sides since one of our iconic performances from the promotion season in 2024- 3-2 at Portman Road. You went 2-1 up and must have been feeling pretty good. Nahki Wells had a great chance to make it 3-1 if memory serves, then you made the common mistake of leaving Conor Chaplin free in the box to score a header, and we then scored a trademark late winner. You don't really know what you're going to get from us yet this season. Our only genuinely good performance was against Sheffield Utd who are a bit of a state - not sure it was a 5-0 game. We've never been that exciting away from home under McKenna, we'll try and keep possession but also play a few risky passes out the back, won't be gung ho, and we'll trust our 'Championship cheat codes' to make one or two moments count up front.

Ashton Gate on Tuesday on 14:17 - Sep 25 with 1403 views | Whos_blue | I refer you to our leader, Sir Phillip of Ham. He'd be able to give you a balanced view of the postings here. You come to us towards the back end of a time of friction on the forum. We're hopefully in better shape here now but still some polarised views on KM and the season thus far. That said, the positive posters far outweigh the negative ones.

Ashton Gate on Tuesday on 14:26 - Sep 25 with 1327 views | _clive_baker_ | Hello Jerseybean. Bristol's a great city, but there's only 1 football club and that's The Gas. I used to coach at their academy a number of moons ago, lovely football club and probably my favourite after Ipswich. That's probably (and unfairly) clouded my judgement of City to the point I sort of always see it as a game against a rival of mine. In reality I have nothing against the Robins, not an offensive club at all to be fair. Up until the last game I would be sat here saying how well you've started the season. Losing at home to Oxford was a surprise, but such is the Championship. I'm not sure if the stats would support this but instinct tells me Ashton Gate isn't a particularly happy hunting ground for us (aside from our most recent trip), and a horrible away day midweek given the major roads in this country now seemingly close for work at 10pm, and the alternative 9 hour route back East will no doubt be via Nottingham or some such b0llocks. Former players that come to mind include Skuse (Bristol lad unless I'm mistaken), Webster (still annoyed you stole him on the cheap), JET (I reckon his 2nd phone was busier in Bristol than Suffolk) and Dean Gerken. I'm sure there are plenty of others I'm forgetting. FWIW I think we'll both be in the top 6 come May, and my prediction for Tuesday is good game between 2 sides who will be trying to win, and a score draw, which I think both managers would probably shake hands on. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

As an Ipswich fan living in Bristol I can confirm all these watering holes are absolutely top notch. The Coronation Tap is legendary, right next to the Suspension Bridge, but a bit of a trek to the ground from there, unless you’re arriving late afternoon and happy to uber it to somewhere nearer the ground. My stag night thirty years ago went hideously downhill after an hour in there at the end of the evening. The cider tastes like apple juice until the fresh air hits you..
