I remember the General Gordon too….a few pints before a gig at the Gaumont.

Upcoming gigs at the Gaumont was another thing to listen out for at halftime.

I can remember Mick playing as a sweeper in a game v one of the tops sides, we went 2 goals down in the first half and he came off at half time. I think it was one of his last games for Town

Matthews were good, really nice well-run company. Well, it seemed to me as a kid anyway but back when a new TV and VCR were big purchases they gave lots of advice and even let us try a video player for a week before we went back for a different one.
