Really looking forward to tonight 09:34 - Sep 30 with 1532 views | SomethingBlue | Feels like the perfect "where are we at the moment" litmus test against a really slick, settled side that is generally tightly drilled and can play some lovely stuff. I'd probably accept a point but we're more than capable of coming away with all three and that should have us breathing down the necks of the top two already. Knight missing out would be a huge blow for them, possibly outcome-determining, let's see how serious that knock really was. Tobacco Factory was excellent pre-match two years ago, lovely blend of home/away fans and the locals incredibly friendly, looking forward to more of the same later. [Post edited 30 Sep 9:34]

Their fans are even talking about Vyner being pushed into defensive midfield. EDIT: Sorry, I meant Bird is ruled out. But if Knight is also missing, we've got to make hay here. If Knight is out, it's a decent chance for us.

Followed up with a home win on Sunday would be a good return. Building momentum is key as we head into the late Autumn early Winter.

Really looking forward to tonight on 10:46 - Sep 30 with 1109 views | Swansea_Blue | For what it’s worth, their local rag is reporting “It would come as a surprise to us if Bristol City captain Jason Knight was ready to feature this evening with just two days to recover from the groin injury that forced him off against Preston on Saturday afternoon.” We’ll see. I’m finding it a hard one to call. On the face of it they’ve had a decent start, but their wins have been against teams that are all struggling (Sheff Utd, Sheff Wed, Hull). I’m going to stick my neck out and predict it’ll be easier than their table position suggests. Hopefully that’s not the kiss of death for us!

Lost their last home game 3-1 to Oxford.

Not sure I would take a point against any side at this level. Not in a naive and overconfident way, but I think we're good enough to beat anyone. Wouldn't be a bad result by any stretch, but if you offered it to me now I'd twist. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

If Knight is out too, you'd definitely twist. They'd have no-one anywhere near as combative as Azor, Jens and Nacho.

And draws don't get you very far. Decent enough outcome on the road don't get me wrong, if that proved to be the outcome, but points wise you're better off winning 1 and losing 1. Obviously. I'd definitely twist and I hope we go there and have right a good go at them. We've got the quality to hurt them. I've got a feeling Akpom will have a big say tonight. Their latest home results are a 3-1 defeat to Oxford, 4-2 win against Hull, goalless draw vs. Charlton and in the back end of last season the 3-0 playoff defeat to Sheff United and before that a 2-2 against Preston. If we're fearing them even at full strength we're in a bit of trouble.
Really looking forward to tonight on 11:17 - Sep 30 with 867 views | surreyblue | The midweek matching over 22/23 and 23/24 were some of the best Town memories I have. Bristol, Rotherham, Hull, Millwall home and away. Then Port Vale, Barnsley in particular during the league 1 campaign.

If you could guarantee me a derby win on Sunday I'd be happy with a point tonight as that would be seven from nine this week which is promotion form. But given City can have an off day and have key players out then it's a good chance for us.

Really looking forward to tonight on 12:14 - Sep 30 with 594 views | Garv | As per Brum, Preston and Blackburn, I'd suggest it won't be a brilliant watch. We've rarely been scintillating away from home under McKenna, we've generally been solid and patient. Likely scorelines are 1-0, 0-0 and 0-1.

Really looking forward to tonight on 12:27 - Sep 30 with 490 views | Vic | I'd like to see a settled team - maybe 3 changes but not the 6 or 7 some are predicting. It's still early in the season and we're still settling - I'd like to see the team having a run together. In terms of result - I'll take a draw if that's all we can get! Better than losing; let;s get an undefeated run together which does wonders for confidence. Obs, a win is best - and a win with a good performance is what we all want. We can do that because we've shown it in flashes, but for me I'm certainly not expecting it.

Really looking forward to tonight on 12:50 - Sep 30 with 357 views | RIPbobby | I’m worried we’ll repeat last season’s away approach in the Premier League. While it worked against top opponents, this season we’ve looked poor away from home against weaker teams. I would prefer a more attacking plan in away fixtures across this division, rather than the cautious first 60 minutes we’ve shown so far. Those conservative tactics have left us with zero minutes in the lead this season and have stifled a squad that thrives on going forward. Given that, I expect a tight game and can only see a 1–0 scoreline, either way. Red cards and dodgy penalties also seem to play a part in matches away from Portman Road so far.
