But Matusiwa looks a phenomenal bit of business. Exactly the type of player we needed to replace Morsy. He's getting even better by the game and seems a fantastic character to boot.

Wasn’t he fantastic yesterday? What a partnership he and Jens make.

Couldn’t love that bloke anymore if I tried. So so good.

Poll: We’ve got super KM, he knows exactly what we need. Woolfie at the back…

As I said last week, head and shoulders the best signing of the last window (at the moment, and for the foreseeable too). If we don't go up this season we will have a job hanging on to him.

He's at least the equal of peak Morsy as a player already. Not the same in the leadership stakes, but doesn't need to be.

Really, REALLY need to keep him fit. As well as Davis.

He is (or will be) PL quality, whereas despite absolute magnificence Morsy probably wasn't quite, certainly in terms of mobility.

Morsy's leadership was beyond PL quality though. If Matu develops anything like that (not that he needs to as a player) he will be top PL quality.

Matusiwa was brilliant in the second half, just like a little dog biting your ankles. The number of times he stole the ball off opposing players and got us moving again. In the past if Morsey did that a yellow card was issued. Our midfield pack is so much better now. In having spent a lot to rejuvenate our side in the last year a lot of supporters are too impatient for success. Yesterday's game proved we are progressing well to greatness again.

Not surprised that he's done so well, he's got 110 appearances in a top 5 league. I'm more shocked at the fact we managed to get him in!

He did benefit from a bit of leniency from he ref there though, the one in the centre circle was probably a yellow. But that was the balancing out piece having let one of theirs off.

Thought the ref was good yesterday, let a few things go that maybe he wouldn’t in a derby and kept control of the game without bringing officious.
Lady near me told me it was only his 17th professional game?!

Very helpful for us as it means he's available for the Boro game. Only one more until he has a one game suspension.

That's Jens, the fancy dan, creative midfielder, who put in an incredible sliding tackle to reach round the legs of the advancing Norwich attacker on the edge of our area and completely pick his pocket of the ball, if I can mix my metaphors.

They both have all of the traits you want in Central Midfielders.

Matusiwa also looks like he has got his handle on what the refs let go in this League and what they don't, and he may end the season with less cards than Sammy did in our Championship promotion season. At Birmingham he looked good for several reds a season!

Absolutely love the fella. And so much more to come from him too.
