The thing about Kipre I like is that he makes his decisions 10:30 - Oct 8 with 1235 viewsjasondozzell

Early and commits to them. It's a big part of why he looks assured I think. He has that conviction in his play.

Kipre looking confident and full of belief in himself, certainly....
Compare that to Greaves, who's looking a bit like his confidence is lagging atm.

I don't know whether it's the "old school" in me.. But I do love an absolute unit of a man, in our back four.. The presence can be felt, imo. Through the team and the crowd.
It's somehow, reassuring, to me, knowing that he just won't get out muscled, in either box...
Looks comfortable on the ball as well..

Still think Greaves is a good player. But hasn't quite found his edge in a Town shirt. For whatever reason.

I was impressed with him on Sunday. I think he deserves a run at it now.

He looks more settled, relative to Greaves, he also clearly has a mistake in him.

You’re getting carried away.., he’ll be the best defender in the world soon, then you’ll slaughter him when he turns out to be EFL quality with no potential.

He’s a ‘big’ asset at this level.., he’s not the answer though is he. And with Greaves KM’s blue eyed boy, and a good few years younger, it’s only time they will determine when Greaves is back .., not form .., according to those players working closest with KM who know more than you and I.

Stop setting Kipre up for a fall.., he’s doing great.., he’s also a the tallest dwarf, both are true.

You seem to struggle with more than one concept being true.

Hopefully he stays in the team and gets a good run, he’s earned it, and that’s important for the group to see .., McKenna has too often pulled the rug on players playing really well, like Burgess, Wolf, Taylor, Broady, Sarmiento etc etc

Imagine being that person, so twisted by bitterness and negativity that you devote so much time to spewing it out all over the forum.

Such a waste of time that could be spent on something more constructive.

You make the valid point that Kipre is not Rio Ferdinand or Virgil Van Dyk but that he deserves a run in the team. Great, I agree. However, your tone is simply dismissive and condescending at times and reading your posts, even on the occasions like today when I find myself broadly in agreement, leave a sour taste. Not sure I'll bother any more. Shame, as I like different perspectives, it's what makes this board great.

Please don’t let him influence you into departing from this board, you’re worth ten thousand of him. I’m sure I’m not the only one who’d massively miss you.

Thanks for that. Rough time right now and TWTD is my bolt hole. Just hate the way some posters just dismiss others and I think I'll have to put one or two on ignore. Hope you're still celebrating your good news from the other week and Sunday's result was the cherry on the top

Ryorry is right and I have found using the ignore button (sparingly for the idiots) useful.

I completely agree. There were some points I agree with in the post in that it's gone over the top with Kipre and there is a bit of a narrative of Greaves being a problem in defence. Greaves has actually been good this season.

I think Kipre was excellent against Norwich and did well in previous game. I think he needs to keep his place and be given the opportunity for a run in the team.

I remain convinced in Greaves being a really high calibre CB who is relatively young for a CB and long term will be great for us

The way greaves has appeared to have changed since his original injury with town is quite interesting really

When he joined he looked the absolute business. He got injured and imo ever since he's been OK solid enough but suddenly not as composed and does have errors in him and quite a lot of individual ones.

He loses a fair share of body to body battles it appears.

Not sure what injury he had but is it possible it has effectively changed his potential overall ability as a player compared to what he was before hand.

a niche perspective

I'm inclined to think, as with most players. A slight drop in form is a mentality/confidence issue...
On top of that. It's often said that the treatment room can be the worst place to pick up on negative vibes. Rather than immersing ones self in the physical day to day stuff.. Which we all know is great for mental health.

Greaves is our player, we paid a considerable fee for him. As such, I think we should really get behind him. He's a class act when he's got his head on..
Like the look of Kipre, too.. But he's here on loan atm. And may not be here next season..

Get behind both players, I say... No need to toss one aside temporarily. Which a few seem to be doing with Greaves. Perhaps because he ousted the old guard from the team. Through no fault of his own?

A couple of things I like about playing Kipre over Greaves;

1. Because he's comfortable with both feet, he isn't limited to a left footed pass to Leif Davis on the left touchline, like Greaves seems to mainly do.

2. You never see Kipre in the space you'd usually find Leif or Jaden. Greaves seems to always be the one in a position to cross the ball, when it should really be Leif.
