Paying the price for kicking the Jay inquiry recommendations into the long grass by the looks of it. I stand by my view earlier in the year that the priority should have been implementing those recs and not getting distracted by another (potentially pointless) inquiry. We could have been improving safety for children now rather than using the topic for political grandstanding. |  |

We’ve had a thread on Reform’s Russian agent before; I’m still as surprised now as I was then that this isn’t massive news. The BBC reported his admission of bribery and then Farage’s ‘surprise’ and Yusuf’s denial that they even knew Gill (lol). And that was that. Very few investigative journalists are prepared to go anywhere near these people. Cadwalladr tried and got SLAPPed to hell and back over it and dropped by the Guardian. All the main media seem to be running scared of probing the reach of dark money within our politics. | |
