Something isn't right at the club 22:22 - Oct 17 with 2279 viewsTripSwitch

This season it's like a 180 from last time we were in the Championship, going from a team way more than the sum of its parts to a team that is now considerably less

McKenna rather than choosing to create a cohesive team unit maximising every player's strength seems to have gone down the road of let's just get individuals with quality and rely on their moments of magic to win us games. Recruitment has been like picking sparkly sweets in a shop rather than a coherent strategy to create a winning and deadly team.

Something just doesn't feel right. I'm not sure what has changed or gone wrong but the club feels very different now than when we were promoted. There's still plenty of hope for this season but right now the club feels like the Man U of the championship, all the money and resources and no idea what to do with it.

Funny how you disappeared for a couple of weeks and now, after a defeat, you're back and all over this board. Bounceback indeed!

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

In football, most seasons for all clubs are not like 22/23 and 23/24.

If you think that's the norm, you might find football isn't for you.

There's your answer.

I don’t know the poster.

But you haven’t really been able to provide a counter to their valid points.

I'd rather be the positive police than a negative nincompoop. And I'd love to know how positivity doesn't help the club, but your constant negativity does.

Seem to be lacking a bit of physicality to go with the talent. Davis goes down far too easily, Cajuste was brushed off the ball a number of times, and our defenders looked scared to even make a challenge. Think we are lacking the streetwise know-how that our previous Champioship team learned in League One.

You and the rest of the hate brigade have had two weeks for the bedsheets to dry and will be out in force. I’m seeing new names on here so you and the toy throwers are increasing in number. Well done!

‘Toxic positivity’ if there is such a thing is a heck of a lot better than what you and your like have to offer when you crawl out from under that rock after a loss.

Yes, tonight was disappointing. I was hoping for better than this after nine games and there are aspects of how we play and how intensity levels drop off etc I don’t like. But players are not automatons and there are no guarantees in sport.

The manager and players need to find the answers and they could probably do with a bit of support. Clearly they’re not going to get it at this club if you and the new brigade on here are anything to go by.

There are even a couple of people piling in to Egeli. He’s been here no time at all, playing in a new unsettled team in a new country at the age of 19. But because the club paid a fee for his potential, the boot is already going in.

All a bit sad really.

For very different see not as good. We on paper are arguably the best championship side, yet only been together for 2-3 months. The 23/24 side had a season and a bit to come together.

Whether that happens or not who knows, but we are improving without a doubt.

The only Muff in Town.

You're really boring - sure I post on here with negatives at times but the likes of you and the Flashing Smile come hunting to take out your frustrations on people criticisng the team - we all want to see ITFC bloody well succeed and supporters react sometimes bu being overly negative (maybe that's me) but also in denial and pretending everything is ok (you and your friend Flash) doesn't make me or any of the others who are questioning KM and the rest less of a supporter.

It’s not a 180, that’s absurd. It wasn’t great tonight but it wasn’t terrible. We should have got a point, but nothing in the selection or points achieved (or otherwise) is panic inducing. We need to do better against good, quick passing sides. Something to work on.

Boring am I? Oh dear, I didn’t know. I’m not sure quite how I will live with the disappointment of learning that, in addition to my many other inadequacies, but I’ll do my best to cope.

Perhaps you might like to read some of the more objective posters to see a more balanced picture. Might at least keep the laundry bill down. However, objective and frankly interesting contributors are reducing in number because you and the rest of your cadre are making this a miserable place.

There is no denial or any lack of disappointment from people who hold similar or even vaguely similar views to me. They care just as much as anybody but choose to offer considered views as opposed to endless misery.

Only you know if you enjoy constant negativity and hate. Plenty of people do and relish the chance of putting the boot in, especially if it’s on a faceless keyboard.

Edit: thanks for the downvote on the Egeli thread btw. That means clearly agree with the OP.

Saying you don't know the poster doesn't absolve the biases you hold in relation to the points they make.

Thanks for your insight Herp derp derp

TBF the problems at Leicester put the struggles Ipswich are going through into perspective, but it's also a cautionary tale of what happens when you blow your opportunities and spend money poorly and so far that's what we've seen since promotion. At least Ipswich have McKenna who is a much better coach than what he be is showing currently.
