Despite reluctance in my part and never having seen the original, I am watching Celebrity Traitors - Mrs C wanted to see it. I am actually enjoying it. You are right. It is funny.too.

Claudia Winkleman is excellent and the behaviours of the contestants and how their minds are working interesting.

Me and Lady Dollers are the same as you and Churchers. We've not seen the original and had no interest in another 'reality TV' nonsense thing, but people had told us it's really good, and we like several of the celebrities in this one, so we thought we'd give it a go. Absolutely compulsive viewing, and funny too.

Can't compare it to the original obviously, but i think when it's well-known celebs it's good because you already know their personalities. Only thing I don't understand is on the first 'death' the traitor had to do something (touch someone's face) but all the rest they just write down who they've killed. I think they should have to physically do something each time, makes it far more challenging.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Agree re actually physically doing something to off a contestant. Watching how AC bumped off PF was funny as was Claudia Winklemen booting the coffin lid down.

I’m guessing that it’d get too obvious too quickly who the bad guys were because in a confined area there’s a limited number of ways to do it. But then I’m not creative so what would I know.

Missed the first regular series, but eldest daughter got us into watching from the second series, it’s fascinating to watch the human behaviour in it.

I actually like the show, but I feel it is too heavily favoured to the traitors. There is not enough evidence given away on who the traitors are. It is pretty much pot luck guessing all the time. We don't see enough of the interactions to get a gauge on the back chat between contenders. It's needs tweaking.

It’s different with the celebrities. With regular contestants they are desperate to win because they need the money, whereas the celebrities seem more desperate to stay in for the prestige, so they are playing the game slightly differently. Also with the celebrities they come with a lot of baggage and personality that is known to each other whereas the ‘normal’ contestants are mostly strangers.

Eg. Everyone knows what a devious egomaniac Jonathan Ross is, so he’s likely to be outed as a traitor sooner rather than later.

Yep agree, it’s essentially guess work until some sort of intervention later in the game when things do become more capable of analysis, but I do like it. Fry had it right the other night re suggesting not bothering with the round table discussion and just sticking names down in silence at this stage of the game.

Yes he did. It would be a good twist if the write a name down before debate and then one after and then add them up

That would be the challenge though! More of a challenge to the traitors and those trying to spot them. It could be really small things, so wouldn't be too obvious. Just writing a name down seems too easy to me.

On the other hand, that's why having Cat and Alan as traitors is so good, because they're the least expected. And to be fair to Jonathan, he's played a blinder so far with the double bluffs and sewing seeds.

I think Jonathan will be next out, personally - hes on everyone's radars surely.

Its a bit more fun with the non celebs as the drive to win the miney is missing in this version, but interplaying celeb egos partially make up for it.

That's the other issue with the celebrities. Somebody made the point that the producers were bound to make one of the two "top dogs" (Ross and Fry) a traitor. That wouldn't happen with randoms. IMO Ross will go next at the round table.

It’s not something I’ll watch with nobodies scrabbling for the money. It doesn’t interest me.

The human behaviour of the Celebes does. Most of them are blind sided by reputations.

For example, Stephen Fry = big dog? Not really. More reputation than substance. Yes, he might be very intelligent but you wouldn’t know it watching that. He’s offered next to nothing apart from a bit of simpering here and there. If I was a traitor, especially Ross who though I don’t like the man has been brilliant I’d target that. Build suspicion and get the others to kick Fry out.

Alan Carr is another. Despite his way, the others are forgetting you don’t get to the top of what he does for a living without being as hard as nails. They are not truly looking.

All good fun, but despite the above comment re Fry, I agree that Ross will get the boot next.

Oh it's fantastic when there are large amounts of money at stake. In the second series a faithful girl forged a very close relationship with a traitor. She was besotted by him and believed every word he said. He was a devious toerag who voted other traitors out at the round table and got to the final two with this girl. He convinced her so much that he was a faithful and stole the whole prize money from under her at the death.

To be fair the celebrities on that show are mostly well known - not to everyone but it’s not like nobodies on celebrity big brother.
